Yeah, definitely got to pull for the Rays here. If the Yankees even play reasonably well the next few weeks, the division is over. Home field race is very tight

Wade Miley took one on the chin. Astros down 7-0 early.

That's quite a beating. 5 ER, 0.0 IP. I'm going to have to watch the replay, on the Houston feed, mostly because I can't stand the Astros commentary crew.
Supports: smart spending, roster flexibility and depth. Does not support: reckless spending and extreme prospect hugging.

I just realized but the Royals are a team that could possibly really effect the playoff races in late September. They play the Marlins and White Sox next, and after that:
    3 vs HOU
    3 @ OAK
    4 @ MIN
    2 vs ATL
    3 vs MIN

...Man, it is sad that I have come down to rooting for Mookie Betts or Rafael Devers to be a hero and hit a game tying HR on the bottom of the 9th, then continue for a few more extra innings and the other one hits a walkoff HR or something.

Boston's Andrew Cashner made it the 134th time from 1908 to the present that the losing pitcher did not allow a hit and his team allowed 1 or 2 runs. Cashner walked 3 batters and threw 9 strikes out of 25 pitches. Minnesota won 2-1.

DiPoto's got to be gone after this year, right? He's got to be gone.

Re: Around The Rest Of The League - Game Action

Oakland's Daniel Mengden got his first career save in his eighth career relief appearance. He allowed 2 earned runs in 3 innings of Oakland's 21-7 win at Houston. Tanner Roark allowed 5 earned runs and 8 hits in 5 1/3 innings and got the win because of Oakland's offense. Houston started Wade Miley got 1 out and allowed 7 earned runs, and Joe Biagini allowed 6 earned runs in 0 innings. It was the second time from 1908 to the present that teammates allowed at least 6 earned runs while getting 0 or 1 out. The previous teammates to do that were Texas' Mike Venafro and Brandon Villafuerte in a 19-6 loss hosting Detroit on August 8, 2001. That means both times teammates did it were when a team in Texas lost at home. Texas started Joaquin Benoit, and Miley and Biagini were the first teammates from 1908 to the present to allow at least 6 earned runs while getting 0 or 1 out including the starter.

    Bye bye Brewers.

Watching Cubs-Padres right now from SD. Amazing how many Cubs fans there are in the crowd. It sounds like a Chicago home game.

Big series between Baltimore and Detroit. Could determine who gets the top pick in next year's draft.
