In that case we should call up a position player and send down a pitcher. German can go down while Cole fills in as the long reliever.

Edit: Higgy is the only AAA player on an option that could be called up. wow.

Yes, the roster is short a man.

In cases where a team has multiple suspensions, the suspensions are staggered so a team is not at too much of a disadvantage.

Drury will be ready very soon, I think they plan on activating him on Saturday or Sunday after he plays in AAA tomorrow.

Technically, you could return Drury to the active roster as well.

The Red Sox were awarded some schedule this April. They play the Rays again this weekend. 10 games against them this month.

1965-67 most Twins pitchers could shut down the Yankees. Mudcat Grant, Camilo Pascual, Dean Chance you name it.

Just means they will have a harder schedule later on.. Rays are also really hot right now, maybe they can still a game or two against Bos this weekend..

Anyone else notice the Yankees doing a devil's horn thing with their fingers when they get on base? What the hell is going on?

I have seen it here and there, it could possibly be something to do with the fact they are considered to be the evil empire again.

" There Are No Words ". Beautiful !
What we can appreciate now is that the Yankees from 1996-2003 were even more extraordinary than we thought.

Have the Yanks announced any roster moves yet due to the Austin suspension?

    Re: 2018 Regular Season Thread

Hopefully, Drury checks out well after his game activities and they can activate him in a day or so. Otherwise, they only have Higgy as a non-DLed postion-player on the 40 man to call up to replace the 13th pitcher. I doubt they are going to release someone to cover a few games until Austin gets back.

I haven't seen anything. German is likely unavailable today and there's only a 2-man bench, so with the backup catcher not likely to play that's really a 1-man bench. That's living dangerously.

They could send down German and bring up Higgy which would make Romine available to PH.

Since they'd need to get someone out West, you'd think that would already have been done and someone would be reporting on it.

I think this probably means they'll roll the dice tonight and bring in Drury tomorrow.

They could, but who who Romine pinch hit for? It looks like Gardner and Romine are the bench players tonight.
    Let the kids play.
