    Nicely done!

From what I understand, both stations are going to call the segment “You thought we had it bad”

This one's pretty good, like legitimately good. Sox announcers should use it.

About 25 years ago the Sox longtime PA announcer came to YS and announced an inning instead of Sheppard. Wade Boggs almost jumped out of the Sox dugout when his name was announced. About two weeks before that Sheppard did an inning at Fenway Park.

Decent lineup tonight. Torres 6th. Voit over Bird. Sanchez 7th.

It seems like it. Assuming Judge is healthy for playoffs what is your optimal lineup? For me I think Id go
    Cutch LF
    Hicks CF
    Stanton DH
    Judge RF
    Andu 3B
    Gley 2B
    Didi SS
    Sanchez C
    Voit 1B

I don't expect that to be the exact WC lineup but that's what I personally would roll out.

I remember Reggie looking up at the press box when Sheppard announced him. For a moment he looked like he didn’t know where he was.

Well, it's not truly being back, but obviously it's a sign things are close.

Sweeny Murti - Aaron Judge is coming off the DL tonight.

    BUT...

Only for defense and baserunning until he gets a little more BP work and live pitching. Still a few more days until he is a hitter again.

So for the next few days, Judge will be the late game designated pinch runner/fielder

Nice lineup. I would like to see Andujar and Torres batting back to back again. Never understood why they stopped doing that.

Me neither. Judge and Stanton will take their assigned places in the batting order at #2 and #4 respectively and either Didi or Hicks will be shoehorned into the #3 slot because analytics calls for righty-lefty-righty. Sanxhez will bat 5th because of experience .

    LF Cutch
    RF Judge
    SS Didi
    DH Stanton
    SS Torres
    CF Hicks
    3B Andujar
    C Sanchez
    1B Voit

I'd be good with that lineup. If they feel Gardner is a better matchup, put him 9th and move Hicks to leadoff and slide everyone up a spot. I'm not opposed to starting Bird as well since I'm not fully buying Voit yet.

! Why anyone would want to break up the two most productive hitters in the lineup is beyond me.

Pinch running and sliding? No thanks.

I'd be fine with flipping those two as well. But since the Yankees seem to want to separate Judge/Stanton, I included that into my lineup.

Stanton is 5th on the team in wRC+ (6th if you include Voit). Talent wise he’s the second best hitter, but Andujar, Torres, and Hicks have been similar or possibly slightly better hitters this year. That said I don’t generally agree with splitting righties, Im just making the point that Stanton isn’t clearly one of the top two hitters on the team with the way he’s played most of the year.

If Judge is truly going to “be back” for the postseason he needs the last 10 games to hit. I wonder if this is just a “smokescreen”.

And by “smokescreen” I mean he is done until 2019 which, I wish I was wrong, but expect him to be.

If Judge plays RF they can give McCuthen some innings in LF.

Finally, a blow out. We really have not had many of these. Tanaka deserved an easy win.

A's play the Rays 3 times....those will be a challenge for the A's..

After that, A's finish the season with Twins, Mariners, Angels. Teams that don't care.

Astros play 3 against the Diamonbacks. Tons on the line in that series. Will be Astros biggest challenge.

After that.... Mariners, Angels....and then cake walk to finish the season with Blue Jays and Orioles.

Yankees have their work cut out for them. Red Sox and Rays aren't going to take a night off..... and that is 10 games. Need to get Judge and Chapman back. Judge needs to get a least 2 weeks of reps in to get his timing back.
Why are games against the Rays considered to be challenging while the Mariners are dismissed as one of “the teams that don’t care.” The Rays are no better than the M’s.

And frankly, do the Sox care at this point? They’re a lock for best record, so are they focused on anything more than getting their rotation set for the playoffs and keeping their hitters sharp but well rested?

Rays are playing better than the M’s lately. And the Sox won’t give us anything they’ll rest their players around the upcoming series, but we will likely get more of their second string in that last series just cause it’s the last 3 games.
