Why is Francesa saying Bird hurt his foot again? Not seeing anything except for him saying it on radio.

That would mean only 12 pitchers!

    Thatís only 7 relievers.

I miss the days of a long and strong bench.

They knew when these two games in Miami where going to be but managed to have the rotation set so Tanaka pitches in one of the two games. Genius!

You and me both. It's insane that we have so many relievers and no bench at all.

But we have 3 .100 hitters on the bench should be good

Strongest lineup they could put up. Although I wish someone other than Tanaka was pitching.

I'm just hoping Stanton doesn't pull a hammy.

This situation is a case where I think BA is more important than power, at least in certain situations. I would trust Toe over Voit or Robinson to make contact with RISP. It might not go over the fence, but he is more likely to make contact and advance/score the runner.
Forgive me for taking the Contrarian view

Good thing we didn't sign Darvish last off season - his season such as it's been - is officially over.

Gardner batting leadoff is so bad. Needs to stop.

I'm not sure they have many better options right now.

Hicks would be a better fit there but not by a whole lot. Once everybody's back Gardner should drop to 7.

Pretty much. Play the 8 major leaguers you have , pitchers aside, and hope for the best.

They do. Hicks is a significantly better hitter.

Bird is maddeningly inconsistent. Goes something like 2-20, hits a couple of home runs then goes back to inconsistency in future games. Time to find another 1B option next year.
