Walker hits better v RHP and can't play every day so it makes sense to give Austin a few starts v RHP on days they want to rest Walker.

I like the lineup. Even the bottom of the order is quite respectable.

This makes me feel like a kid on Christmas eve again, its a similar feeling, hard to sleep knowing tomorrow you get to unpack the presents. The excitement, the anticipation, its like Xmas eve for adults.

Definitely don't think Gardner should be leading off against a lefty.

Ideally that changes as time goes on.

However, the point remains. Everyone seems to complain about Girardi's lineups all the time. In this instance, it was 5 RHH in a row.

(other post pointed it out Gardner is LHH) Just want to add. The other point Joe G did was look at the numbers against the opposing pitcher. I think this is why we see Gardner leading off against Happ (300) but I do like seeing Gardy lead off opening day. We should see Hicks leading off against LHP a lot in the future.

With all due respect, this is fake news. Against lefty pitchers it was not uncommon for Joe to bat three righties in a row. Joe is gone, no need to make stuff up to justify his termination.
