I see this trendy opinion of "Gary Sanchez is the best hitter in this lineup" (Cone just said it pregame of Opening Day), and I just can't see it at all based on what we've seen from Judge last year and Stanton over the course of his career.

I get the sentiment - Sanchez is awesome and potentially being overlooked because of Judge and Stanton - but I just don't think he belongs in the same category as those two at this point, much less AHEAD of them.

I have been thinking the exact same thing, itís really odd why everyone keeps saying this.

he hit 33HR and missed a month... He's definitely in the running for best hitter in the lineup.

Stanton just announced his presence with authority.

I think as a hitter, Gary is better than Judge or Stanton.

Now, if you want to talk slugger, it's a different discussion.

I think gary needs to be a little more selective at times. He doesnít neccessarily need to walk more. Just put himself in better counts

Wade showing big range on a grounder up the middle, especially on turf.

Strikes out less than Judge. Looks to hit for higher average than Stanton. Has equal power to them both.

So you're basically looking at a higher BA less Ks Judge.

I would vote for him as the best hitter on the team.

LOL Good Point, can you imagine if he did that in Yankee Stadium, it would have been sheer insanity.

Word is, Boone was going to put Bird between them. That's what they were saying on the tv anyways

I hope they don’t experiment with judge in the leadoff spot but if they do it better be followed by Stanton then Sanchez

The Yankees should win a lot of games by simply making it a battle of the bullpen. I trust our lineup and bullpen over the other teams lineup and bullpen.
