You can also follow me @EvanJ3535 on Twitter, but my tweets about baseball are normally things I post here also. I have found rare events in other sports, like when Dwayne Wade became the seventh NBA player since 1963-1964 to have at least 20 points with at least 6 free throws attempted but none made.

LOL this is very funny. It's all in the delivery, isn't it.

From a marketing standpoint, this organization needs to extend Didi's contract after this season and keep him off the open market. This man can own this town.

Do they even market him? Seems like he is behind Judge, Kranken and Stanton in that regard. His performance is why he should be extended now. BTW he still has one more year of arbitration as a former Super-Two. He hits the open market after 2019.

In 2014 he played 80 games, so including time on the bench he was probably in MLB for over half the season, but he got only .126 years of service time.

His talent & productivity (to go along with a constant smile & always saying the right things)-that's what makes him marketable. He'll sell tickets. He'll sell souvenirs and collectibles. He'll sell subscriptions to YES.

Yanks need to extend him after the season, so the AAV doesn't go up in 2018. I think a 5yr deal could do it. Maybe 5/$75M ? Can a man set up his family for generations by making $15M per year for the next five years?

I think I could, but I'd probably lose it all on a blackjack table.

He played 57 games in AAA in 2014. According to MLB.com he was in AAA from the start of the season to June 3rd and stayed up the rest of the season.

His 85.25 ESPN score for his 8 RBI game is the best for a Yankee since Russell Martin's 85.25 on August 25, 2011, when he hit one of the Yankees MLB record three grand slams. The last time a Yankee had a higher score was when A-Rod got 88.75 on April 26, 2005 when he had 3 home runs and 10 RBI.

He got credit for 126 days of ML service in 2015, not 12.6% of a year.

    Typo - I meant 2014.

June 3 to Sept 28 (end of regular season) is 117 days. AZ opened the season in Japan for two games and he was on that trip before being sent down.

It’s a SSS for sure, but 8 walks in 9 games is pretty impressive considering he had only 25 last year. He won’t sustain his 20% walk rate obviously, but if he can sit at ~9% even, that’s be huge addition to his game.

If Didi can post a 9% walk rate and maintain his power gains, he's essentially Corey Seager. That'd be crazy.

What's not crazy is that Didi actually posted a 9% walk rate across the 400 PAs he got in his rookie year. He's gotten progressively more impatient each season since (except last season where he had a slight uptick to 4.4% from the abysmal 3.2% he posted in 2016).

Exactly. Over the 182 games in Arizona, he put up an 8.4% walk rate so it's not like it's out of the question. He's been overlooked by a lot of people around here (myself included) due to his mediocre OBP, but he's shown all the tools at different points in his career. Maybe he really is putting it all together this year.

it is not out of the realm of possibility. there has a distinct improvement in his approach. i figured last year was his career year but maybe he has that in him again.

In his first 3 ABs tonight he's got a BB and a HR, which was hit 109.4 MPH off the bat - I think that's significantly above his norm, and off the top of my head I can't recall ever seeing a harder hit ball from him.

He's walking now... already at half his walk total from all of last season.

Obviously he won't finish with a 19% walk rate, but I bet quadrupling your walk rate from one full season to the next would be a RECORD.
