This might happen tonight. I have a hard time remembering when Didi got a day off. Maybe just going to a game and watching for the dugout is good because he has had the regular days off but same. I like what Jace and Benefactor (sp?) posted - LD% is big factor and just not unlucky ("swinging the bat good..."). Torreyes has cooled off too but I would try either Torreyes or Torres at SS tonight.

    Stop tweeting and start hitting.

He can't remain in the 3 spot at this point. Play him, but move him down. He's not a rally killer, he's a rally destroyer.

This all began towards the end of his hot streak in April. He started to chase out of the zone and got hits nevertheless. Then it caught up to him, and how I think it's in his head. I agree that he should sit for a game or two....he might pick up something just watching. Then I'd drop him all the way down to 7 until he starts barreling up baseballs rather than hitting lazy fly balls.
    Let the kids play.

Wasn't it 2 and half? suspended game, rain out, travel day. regardless I feel Boone and hitting coach have to do something because I thought the 1 hit he would start hitting.

The first time since at least 1908 ... probably ever.

EDIT: That said, I second what SatchelPaigeYankee said.

Still not seeing Didi getting robbed of any potential hits. He's not hitting into bad luck, he's just hitting bad.

I can't decide which has been greater - the height of his April or the depth of his May?

And I thought Headley’s ridiculous start and crash last year was bad. Didi should rebound though.

the thought of manny machado being the yanks shortstop for next year and beyond..is looking more and more appealing.. he can do it all hit... hit for power field has a great arm...

The legendary slump has evened out his legendary start. That curtain call on the road clearly angered the Baseball Gods. He'll still have a nice season and should be signed to a long-term extension if possible.

i disagree this is not even a bad slump... this is a horrendous slump which is baffling for a contact line drive hitter for didi..manny machado is a superior player in every aspect of the game then didi... and he is 2and a half years younger then didi...

machado isn't a high character guy, has a history of knee issues and will cost a ton more. no thanks.

Its not necessarily about being robbed. Its a factor of putting the ball in play enough, that even if you don't hit the ball that hard, a certain amount of batted balls will fall or go through for hits.

This month, his hard hit % is higher than May. Now he is hitting more grounders but that doesn't mean that the ability to get hits should drop to the level that it has.
Quite simply, he is hitting a lot of hard grounders straight at infielders.

Judge, in comparison, is hitting as many grounders as Didi in May. He is hitting the ball harder but his balls in play, have largely been groundballs. Yet, his BABIP is significantly higher.

^Machado not being a high character guy? Don't worry, he isn't going to marry your daughter/son.

it's all about winning when players come to the yanks they behave.. for the most part.. all it will cost the yanks is money.. which is not a lot considering how much money the yanks have...

that's nice, team synergy and clubhouse mean nothing to you. good stuff.

i'd rather they spend their money elsewhere.
