I'd just like to say how much I love that Aaron Boone isn't obsessed with resting players for no reason at all.

    haha.

JG: "Well, Sweeney, the reason I rested Lefthanded Hitter-X tonight -- after going 5-5 with 5 home runs yesterday -- is because LHSP-X is a tough lefty who might cause trouble for him, even though his platoon splits and a host of other data say otherwise."

Amazing to think that if his pen didn't have a 12 ERA through the first two weeks, their record would be closer to 19-5 or something like that. He must have learned how to manage recently.

Guaranteed Torres or Andujar would have been sitting today if Girardi was managing. And Austin would probably be platooning with Walker.

Games like tonight I miss Girardi’s roid rages. These umpires deserve to get their asses chewed out.

Bench coach has already been thrown out. Couldn't risk getting tossed.

You absolutely CANNOT bring Holder into this game in this spot. Terrible decision.

    Major gripe.

normally I would agree, but with Warren and Kahnle both on the DL I'm fine with the move. Could have gone Green I guess.

Betances. Anyone. You don't bring in your worst reliever in a one run game. Unacceptable.

Not PR for Gardner might have lost them the game. Again. Basic stuff.

I wanted him to do that also, but the run ended up scoring anyway.

Heh, your team would be burned out by June.

Seemed like, given the short bench, you should probably at least wait until Sánchez got in scoring position.

I would have gone for it when Sanchez was at 1B even though it likely meant burning my last two bench players, but that's a tough call.

Holder shouldn't be on the roster, let alone pitching in a one run game.

Boone admitted he made a mistake on the tag play, said he should have called for boundary review.

Yeah, this was confusing for everyone, and it didn't help that his bench coach had been tossed so their normal chain of communication was messed up.

Going to Holder was a horrible move. Yes, it worked out but going to him in a one run game is ridiculous. The Angels hit the ball hard that inning, unsurprisingly, just to the wrong places, thankfully. Of course, Stanton's defense helped greatly. Holder is a garbage inning pitcher.
