Agreed, no chance they sell low on Sanchez. Furthermore, given his stubbornness on his acquisitions, it would not shock me in the least to see Gray a Yankee next year. I mean, he is already on the 40 man and all.

Perhaps Cashman will convince his good buddy Billy Beane to take Sonny back this Winter.

So we can start the next 100 plus page thread on why the next guy should be fired?

Sure, if he manages like this guy. I'll spot you 1000.

Pretty much. However, Girardi lasted nine years so I think there's about a zero percent chance he gets fired after his first year.

Joe Binder Girardi began managing the Yankees in 2008 (missed the playoffs), won the World Series in 2009, and was not re-signed for 2018 and beyond. He managed the Yankees for 10 seasons.

The passion was practically oozing out of Boone when he said losing the division to Red Sox "stings a little bit."

I just donít get Boone at all. The Aís are breathing down our necks, the Yankees have struggled playing in Oakland recently, and the priority to Boone is resting players.

Yea I donít see where the rest has benefited anyone either. Most of our guys are having down years which may be totally unrelated but has it really kept anyone fresh? Possible but Iím not seeing it. Then again everyone is finally healthy so I guess you donít push your luck, but if there was some more urgency earlier in the year it wouldíve been easier to rest players now.

Boone is a joke. Team is battling for home field advantage in the WC game, and Boone is more concerned with resting Andujar, Sanchez and Stanton in a must-win game....

Stanton had played 80-something straight games and had hammy soreness

No, he had a day off a couple of weeks ago, and it does excuse resting a third of your regulars at this stage in the season. Inexcusable.

And prior to that he had played in 80-something consecutive games. Didn't know one day was sufficient recovery time for that

Romine over Sanchez right now is a positive. The other two I agree with.

Didn't the Yankees have two days off prior to the Red Sox series?

Maybe PH Romine with Gary and hope he pops one, then close out with Higgy? Naaaaaa.

Maybe PH Gardner against a lefty with Stanton and hope he pops one? Naaaaa.

We need a new manager in the worst way.

Yeah that was really dumb. Itís like Boone didnít realize it was a one run game. Also, please take AJ Cole away from him. If he is on the postseason roster Boone will use him.

80 straight games, mostly as a DH, doesn't exactly qualify anyone for iron horse status. And, if Stanton's hammy was that debilitating, Boone would have to be a complete moron to start him all those games in a row.

This a hundred times. For the love of God please make it stop. The lightning left that bottle a loooooooooooooong time ago. Even Suzyn was getting kind of irritated with Boone over this guy.

With a 9-8 lead in the bottom of the 8th, you keep in the better defensive player in Gardner, good call.
