    So far so good.

I wonder if Boone realizes how lucky he is.

This. 91 pitches and a loaded bullpen. In mid-July he needs to leave him in another 15 pitches, not now.

He definitely had a much better day than fellow rookie managers Alex Cora (not using Kimbrel in the bottom of the 8th with bases loaded against the Rays) and Kapler (leaving Herrera out of the lineup and then pulling Nola after 68 pitches)

Pulling Severino at 92 pitches on opening day in my mind, was the right call on opening day.

Kershaw, Verlander, Kluber and Sale all threw 90-92 pitches today. Very few starting pitchers today threw more than that total.

The post game press conference was brutal... on the part of the Reporters.

Two questions were asked twice. Exactly the same questions. Like maybe they were testing Boone, or the Reporters weren't paying attention. It was very odd.

And he didn't. It was the 6th inning.

Yea I noticed that too...it was stupid. They asked him about Austin twice although the he gave a clear answer the first time and then the exact same question about Stanton.

Someone in the press was copying from the next persons sheet.

Did anyone hear the PR guy (Rick Cerone, or was Girardi there?) call him "Boonie" when it was over?

I checked in a few times and I agree. Michael Kay show is much better.

I had no problem with it and what fans need to understand that many of the decisions in regards to player utilization are now made by Baseball OPs. The manager is a facilitator.

Its a shame but this is 100% correct. I'm not a huge fan of Kay or the show but wfan's trio is horrendous. Not sure who came up with the idea but it doesn't really work.

Three home runs in the first two winner-take-all postseason games last year (MIN/CLE), no complaints here.

Walker at leadoff is a pretty good move, but Judge in CF seems like a stretch

I love how you preached patience with Girardi but won't do the same with Boone. For the record, I'm not keen on this move either but I don't get your double standards here.
