Iím not sure if this belongs in the 2018 or 2019 thread, but:

    @DanJFederico
Hearing rumblings that Major League Baseball has found that the Los Angeles Dodgers are in violation of rules involving the international free agency market. There is word they will get penalized similar to what the Atlanta Braves received a year ago
The Braves had to release all their IFA players, didnt they? Wonder if thereís anyone the Yankees can sign from this.

The signings by the Braves were in the 2015-16 IFA signing season. The penalties were in November 2017.

I'm sorry , I was asking about the Dodgers season being investigated. 16-17 or 17-18?

This article lists Hector Olivera and Pablo Fernadez as two of the players.

This article says that officials are being investigate (by a Federal Grand Jury) for violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Talking to a fellow SWB RR fan who told me today he was told The Grey deal also included IFA cash as well as the CBP? Anyone else hear anything about this?

    The MLB transaction reads:

ďNew York Yankees traded RHP Sonny Gray and LHP Reiver Sanmartin to Cincinnati Reds for 2B Shed Long and Future Considerations.Ē

Considerations? Plural? Then again, I donít think Iíve ever heard of ďfuture consideration.Ē Maybe thereís something else. They didnít just list the pick. Can future IFA money be traded yet?

The MLB.com article listed it as a Competitive Balance A pick - https://www.mlb.com/news/yankees-tra...ds/c-302890072

Also, the MLB Draft Order page lists the Yankees with the 37th pick in the Competitive Balance A round acquired from the Reds via trade - please note that the same page also show the Yankees with the 30th pick with the same notation.

Yeah, that draft order page is pitiful. There are so many errors. I went there after the Pollock signing to see which pick the Dodgers would lose. I left realizing I would need a source other than the one that should be THE source.

True, but given that the page would have previously said that that pick belonged to the Reds, I think it reasonable to assume it is the pick.

I could see how a traded draft pick could be call a "future consideration".

BA projects the top 2019 IFA prospect, Dominican OF Jasson Dominguez, will receive a $5 mil bonus. He has been linked to the Yankees, and since the rest of the top 10 are not they may be planning to put their eggs in that basket. Tooled up with now-power and hitting ability

Very strong build. Looks like he can run a bit from video. These posts should be moved to 2019 thread...

It would be awesome if the Yankees hit big on one of these tippy-top of the market kids in Jasson this year. Like, he's a top 100 guy at the end of the year with all kinds of helium at the end of the year.

That's precisely what I was thinking. Can we get our own Wander Franco, please? Kid is already getting ranked into top 5s after only a year of pro ball.
