With the way Andujar has been hitting lately, Drury shouldn’t be brought back until he is 100% over this thing.

"The Yankee third baseman, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list two weeks ago because of severe migraines and blurry vision, said Saturday that an irritated tendon running up his neck and into his head was the root of the perplexing issue."

I'm hoping this is the answer. I'd love to see Drury contributing and giving Boone another issue to deal with - finding playing time for all the infielders. It also gives Cashman more trading chip options for a SP.

Drury will be in SWB on Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if they bring him up to replace Adķjar or put somebody else down, maybe Walker?

If Lind is on this team, Walker is pretty worthless to this club. They should look to trade.

If Lind is on the team Bird didn't recovery and/or Austin got hurt.

That is to say I see little chance that Lind gets promoted. I'm guessing he only took the MiLB deal because his services are not in high demand.

I think it's 20 days for Position players, 30 for pitchers. Not 100% certain though.

Not so sure of that. They might get sick of Walkers non hitting before Bird returns. When Bird returns, Walker doesn't have a place on this club.

Bird I could see bumping Walker from the team, that's a possibility.

Lind, I don't see that happening anytime soon. I think it takes an injury to someone for Lind to get a call up.

That seems like plenty of time to make a decision. No reason to worry about it now.

I thought Drury still has options?

  17. #67

Re: 2018 Brandon Drury Performance Thread

Yes, Drury can be optioned, that might have to happen at some point if they want to keep Walker.

But Iím pretty excited to see a hopefully healthy Drury as a bench player, he could presumably play an adequate 2B or 3B or 1B and play maybe 3-4 times a week.

I am more interest in Drury because I know he will be on the roster soon but I think Lind will option out to FA because he has options to get out May 1, June 1, and July 1 if he is not on the roster (2M). Lind wants a job and I agree it's like Peterson - little chance.

Considering he didn't get any work all ST at 2B, he's going to play there a little during his rehab, right?

The only way he's getting ABs is via 2B/3B.

Hasn't he also played the corner OF position? I could see him playing there on a day where we want to give gardner a day off against a tough lefty.

Doubt he'll play the OF. He's real bad out there. This was Cash after the trade:

Cashman on if Drury is a Ben Zobrist type player: "Nah, I don't see it. He's not as good of an outfielder and we have enough options. We'll see him deployed in the infield. Right now, it'll be third base and some first base."

TAustin is more of that guy anyway. OFer vs a tough LHP.

I'm not worried, Cashman will figure it out.
