Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
If they're staying at 2, it's a QB.

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
The dumbest thing in the world is having a dumpster fire season and not starting Davis Webb or even getting him a single minute.
Geno Smith gives us the best chance to win!!
Epic, epic, EPIC pro franchise malpractice

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
One of my initial reactions to the Jet trade was the deal didn't happen with the Giants not because they hate Jets but because they want to stay at 2 for a QB.
It doesn't make sense to me to stay at 2 just to draft a RB. Not when you can get additional assets in a trade down and if you really want a RB, grab Nick Chubb or Guice. Who may not be Barkley but still should be very good backs.
I don't buy into Nelson or Chubb being the pick. Too many good guards in this draft. And Chubb is too transparent/convenient after the JPP trade.. He's also a 4-3 DE and not a really a 3-4 OLB according to scouts.

I'm guessing the draft will be Darnold/Barkley or Barkely/Darnold at 1/2 to CLE/NYG

I’ll pass on Josh Rosen because of the injury history.
Even though I don’t know much about him, Sam Darnold is also my wild guess for number one.Last edited by Vin; 03-30-18 at 04:40 PM. Reason: to add a comma

NFL Network reporting the Rams are offering two 1's for Beckham.
I wonder what other teams are offering? Cause to late in the round picks for a 25 y/o HOF talent isn't enough.

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
There is a certain irony about the Giants wanting Odell to stay out of the spotlight. While they themselves are giving interviews that do nothing but throw fuel to the fire.

Brandon Marshall's been released, apparently after failing his physical.

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
I guess it's not truly official for a few hours, but this seems to be pretty widely reported as the schedule. Tough first half, and Carolina followed by Philly on short rest is no one's idea of a good week. (Well, it might the Eagles' and Panthers' ideas of a good week).

Week 1: vs. Jaguars
Week 2: at Cowboys on Sunday Night Football
Week 3: at Texans
Week 4: vs. Saints

Week 8: vs. Washington
Week 9: BYE
Week 10: at 49ers on Monday Night Football
Week 11: vs. Buccaneers
Week 12: at Eagles
Week 13: vs. Bears

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
Schedule through the BYE looks like it could be rough...unless team has made a ton of improvements since last season.

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
I realize the schedule is pre-determined. Most any schedule is going to look "tough" to a team that just went 2-14. My point was more the front half of the schedule looks much more difficult than the back half with 5 of the first 8 against playoff teams from last year and 2 of the 3 "easy" opponents are on the road. Though Houston only "looks" easy because they lost their QB last year and had no viable backup.
The schedule after the BYE actually looks pretty favorable.

Actually the Giants were 3-13! The schedule looks tough to any team that stinks as bad as the Giants.

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
If the Giants take Barkley IMO they believe Webb is the next guy
I don't see them passing on Darnold if he's available though

I’m kind of concerned about it. The couple times I watched him, he was careless with the ball.

Re: 2018 New York Giants Thread
I think if they take Barkely they don't feel anyone in this draft is likely to be their QB for the next 10 years. I don't think it says anything about what they feel about Webb who they passed over to start freakin' Geno Smith.
I do agree that all signs point to them taking Darnold if Cleveland does not.
That said I'm not really sure how I feel about Darnold, then I didn't feel good about the Phil Sims pick and that one worked out OK.
