And this is the league which loves to tell everyone... which players are classy or high character. The malcontents or me-me-me guys.

I wish there was a legitimate rival.

Seems like the girlfriend should be charged with filing a false police report, or making false statements to the police, or whatever the relevant charge is. For more than one case! She sounds like a real peach.

It's actually not that bad of an idea, basically calling out not standing for the anthem as a unsportsmanlike conduct, which it is. The unusual part is that the conduct is occurring outside of the game so I don't know how they can reconcile that. But the NBA has something close with the technical fouls, like if a guy on the bench is mouthing off at the ref the other team can get a free throw. The point is that a game penalty would make the players kneeling hurt the team and therefor a big disincentive to do it

I'm doubting anybody missed that point.

Not sure if anyone else listens to Malcolm Gladwell's podcast Revisionist History but last week he did one about NFL, football and CTE and posits that in 50 years people will think about football the way we think about women in the 60s smoking while pregnant.

The San Francisco 49ers lost one of their legendary icons.

Dwight Clark, the former 49ers WR known for 'The Catch' in the 1981 NFC Championship Game against the Dallas Cowboys, dies at 61 after losing his battle with ALS.

Julian Edelman facing a 4-game PED suspension. Does he use that same quack trainer that Brady uses?

Absolutely, Alex Guerrero. Edelman actually referred to him as "Mr. Miyagi" a few months back.

“There’s always going to be those types of things,” Edelman said of Guerrero last November. “If it helps you, then it helps you and Tom [Brady] is a living proof of how that has helped his career. I am a huge advocate of it. I feel like it helps me with a lot of my stuff and I like consulting with Alex and those guys over there because I’ve seen through a lot of the rehabs that they have done and that it’s been unbelievable.”

Wouldn’t expect it from Jules but definitely not suprised. That is if it really is something banned. Old player recovering from injury.

Seriously there was a girl in Boston who hooked up with "Jules" a few years ago and photoed him while he was sleeping to brag about who she just banged on her social media. A few local bars banned her. The are very protective of fan favorite athletes in Boston as opposed to NYC where this story would have been plastered on Page 6 of the NY Post.

I actually think there’s more pressure on Boston athletes than New York ones. From the media that is. And I’m generally biased towards NEw York generally speaking.

It would be trolling us all if he was one of those “back in the studio” guys that weighs in on a close call.

My rankings for NFL rules experts on major television (Fox, CBS and ESPN/ABC)

    1. Mike Pereira (FOX)
    2. Dean Blandino (FOX)
Distant 3. Mike Carey (CBS) until he was let go.
    TBD: Jeff Triplette (ESPN)
Absolutely the Worst (referee or no referee). Cris Collinsworth (NBC)

In terms of active referees in the NFL, I like to see John Parry get a NFL rules expert gig with either CBS or NBC.
