What's even sadder was that Wade Wilson died on his birthday today.

I remember Wilson quarterbacking the Minnesota Vikings to an upset win over the San Francisco 49ers in 1987-88 NFC Divisional Round and came very close to upsetting the Washington Redskins in the 1987-88 NFC Championship Game.

After looking at the 2020s PFBHOF potential list, I think Troy Polamalu will get in his first year of eligibility. Steve Atwater should get in along with Alan Faneca and two head coaches in Jimmy Johnson and Don Coryell. Seniors committee pick: Jerry Kramer.

What a boring game. Even Jim Nantz was crapping on it at one point which was comical. Edelman is such a beast.

I thought it was a good game. I wonder if Romo is done kissing Belicheck’s butt yet.

In baseball, the suspicion of PEDs keeps you out of the HOF. In football, a PED suspension covering 1/4 of the season is an afterthought by seasonís end.

It was a good defensive football game. I am far from a Patriots fan, but they shut down the Rams. The Rams D shut down the Patriots. If the had just knocked Edelman off the line a few times instead of try to play patty-cake it would have been better.

    I disagree.

Too many penalties, missed throws, missed FG's, lack of pacing, combined with not enough exciting defensive plays to make up for the rest of the game.

This felt more like a Thursday Night game in early November than it did the Super Bowl.

ok well if you're looking for huge collisions and picks / fumbles then no, but this was a strategic defensive masterpiece in the same way in baseball where you have a 0-0 gem going into the 9th. No home runs but for the purists it's something to admire

I seldom watch any football at all these days and after watching last night's game it didn't make me reconsider that decision in the future..

I don't know man... I've watched 0-0 pitching gems that are hugely entertaining. This would have been a 0-0 game where both teams had multiple fielding errors, neither pitcher can find the strike zone and no batter hit a ball out of the infield.

It’s football. A lot of those “errors” were triggered by good defense. Brady looked human, but made a couple plays when he needed to. Just when the Rams got on a roll, the D forced Goff to float one up that was intercepted. The game easily could have gone the other way.

It could have gone either way, but I don't think the play was particularly stellar, either.

I agree with a lot of what is in this article, including:

Goff, who was hit five times in the game, was never able to find a consistent rhythm and frequently missed his target. Most notably, he was late on a pass in the third quarter, allowing safety Jason McCourty to break up a sure touchdown to a wide-open Brandin Cooks in the end zone. McVay, meanwhile, failed to aggressively push small edges, never going for it on fourth-and-short. The Rams also played sloppily, earning nine penalties for 65 yards to New England’s three for 20. Much was written about the experience gap between the two teams at coach and QB, and it showed. At one point, Goff forgot the snap count he called in the huddle and was flagged for a false start, an incredibly rare feat for an NFL quarterback.

I do wonder how the game would have been different had the Saints won last week, and the more experienced Brees was matched up against the Patriots defense.

It was a great bet because you won. But it is clearly a 7:5 bet. For every $7 you risked, you won $5.

Possible but Patriots would still be more likely to win. When you play Belichick you don't play Y you play f(x). That is, like poker, your opponent's play is a function of who you are and what you do. The Saints would have been a completely different game plan and set of adjustments
