So, the Orange Bowl will host the Alabama-Oklahoma semifinal while Notre Dame and Clemson tangle in the Cotton Bowl.
That if your team wants to go to the CFP maybe don't get blown out by an unranked team.
I still think OSU is a better team than Oklahoma. If OSU loses on a last second field goal or some other crazy bounce then it might not with add heavily against them. They got blown out. CFP not deserved. If Texas would have breast Oklahoma again, then sure.
That Georgia is 5 is BS, but again, Purdue.

And Texas was the only loss for Oklahoma in the first meeting by only three points.

Rose and Sugar was dead on. The matchups were right on the other two, but the bowl game was wrong.

UCF vs. LSU in the Fiesta Bowl and Florida vs. Michigan in the Peach Bowl.

So how can Notre Dame get away without being in a conference and still be eligible for the playoffs?

Be undefeated with some quality wins.

The 2018 Notre Dame Fighting Irish team beat the Michigan Wolverines (third best team in the Big Ten), the Pittsburgh Panthers (who went on to win the ACC Coastal and runner-up in the ACC), the Syracuse Orange (third best team in the ACC), the Northwestern Wildcats (the Big Ten West Division winners and runner-up in the Big Ten) and four other teams that were also bowl eligible (Stanford Cardinal, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Vanderbilt Commodores and Virginia Tech Hokies).

Because they went undefeated and were the only of only 3 teams to have 12 wins against FBS opponents.

They had the number 3 strength of record

I guess my question was more of why they feel they're above being in a conference more than why they made the final 4.

Being Independent allows them to be more of a national team. And they get that NBC deal too. They have been independent forever, why change

I disagree. In fact considering how dirty college sports are I would say he's solidly middle of the pack.

The #22 ranked Army Black Knights win America's Game again.

For the third consecutive year, Army defeats their Military Service rival, the Navy Midshipmen, 17-10 inside Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field.

Army QB Kelvin Hopkins Jr. scored the first touchdown of the game with a 10-yard touchdown run to give the Black Knights a 7-0 lead after the first quarter.

The scored stayed that way until the third quarter as John Abercrombie kicked a 33-yard field goal to make it 10-0 Army heading into the fourth quarter.

Navy got on the board midway through the fourth quarter when Garret Lewis, who came into the game after replacing Zach Abey, punched in a one-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 10-7.

But the Army defense caused havoc all game long with four takeaways.

Hopkins Jr. punched in his second touchdown run of the game from one yard out to give Army a 17-7 lead with 1:28 left.

Bennett Moehring gave Navy a lifeline with a 46-yard field goal to make it a 17-10 ballgame with 29 seconds left, but Army recovered the onside kick to seal the victory.

Army will head into their Armed Forces Bowl showdown with the Houston Cougars at 10-2 overall while Navy finished their 2018 season at 3-10 overall.

Back-to-back Heisman Trophy winners for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Kyler Murray wins the 2018 Heisman Trophy with a 92% vote.

Murray's Heisman Trophy helps Oklahoma tie the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio State Buckeyes for the most wins with seven.
