Was this thread not "Official" enough that we needed to make another one?

I mean, I even made it "Super Official".

Well, look at it this way; had they signed Cano instead and never signed Ellsbury, we wouldn’t have grabbed Castro who was turned into Giancarlo effin Stanton.

    This was Judge’s density.

it's certainly possible that keeping cano would not have ushered in the 2016 rebuild that has helped turn this team into a potential monster.

I think it would be wrong for me to expect the same results as last year, but I find myself imagining Aaron having another monster year.

Last year Aaron Judge had 15 of the top 50 hardest hit balls in the Majors.

Through the first 6 games of the season Judge has not put a single ball in play in the top 50 hardest hit balls in the Majors (Stanton has the top 2).

He's still got an OPS of .921.

The fastest to reach 58 HRs in the first 189 games in MLB history. Pretty cool. I'll bet he continues to set new milestones.

    He's really emulating ARod's one-handed ole swing.

Someone said (forgot who) the first time he was out there: He is the largest centerfielder in MLB history.

Let's pray for no collisions with Stanton!

Re: The 2018 Super Official Aaron Judge Performance Thread

Last night he finally returned to the exit velocity top-50 leaderboard with his monster HR off Sale (116.3 MPH, 6th hardest hit ball in the Majors in 2018 so far). Even with only that one entry, he's now 12th overall in baseball with a 200 wRC+, and 7th overall with his 0.7 WAR accumulation.

Just like Stanton he's going to go supernova soon, but Judge is already at the top of the league in production.

Anybody else notice that Judge's throws into the infield seem controlled and weak? He supposedly has a great arm but we never see it.

I know what you're talking about - I've had that feeling at times, too. But when I started digging on it I came to the conclusion that it's just the aesthetics of his throwing motion; being so tall and muscular makes it long and slow. The ball almost always comes out like a rocket though. There have been times when I'm positive he just lollygagged a throw to the infield, but it carries so much further than I thought it would, even one he one-hops it back to 2B.

Also, this was just a handful of games ago...

well he has thrown out quite a few runners on the infield last year he threw out a minnesota twins player at the plate on a sacrifice fly it was a laser recorded at 97 mph.. to say has a weak arm is a lie...

despite being all the way out in RF, somehow is one of the very first people to get to the brawl---and then doesn't fight at all. legit

edit: my bad... forgot yankees were batting, so he was in the dugout

I’m confused. I didn’t watch the game and only saw highlights but why would Judge be coming from RF? Both times the benches cleared, the Yankees were batting, so he would presumably have been coming from the visitor’s dugout.

Judge was the first player there and he instantly separated Kelly from Austin. Then he put Kelly in a headlock. And LOL at Devers trying to constrain Judge. Like watching a 10 year old trying to tackle his dad.

Last year when Detroit instigated the brawl, Judge was the one who dragged Cabrera around like a rag doll. And nobody went after Aaron.

Judge is the Yanks' Hulk. Love the guy.

He put Kelly in a headlock but it's clearly that his intention was to pull Kelly away from the fight. Very classy move as he could easily kill Kelly there.

Aaron Judge played peacemaker last night, and his college coach saw it coming. A prescient quote from Fresno State’s Mike Batesole, in #TheBabyBombers:

"That sweet kid, that big beautiful smile that you see, don't get fooled by that," Batesole said. "This kid will blow you up in a second. This kid's got a mean streak. To play in the 150-game area with the travel they go through, and still get my 100 swings in after the game, and still get my lift in, you've got to have a little bit of a mean streak to get through those times, especially late in the season. And he's got that. You think about a guy who's got his teammates' back. At some point, there's going to be something that happens with the Red Sox or somebody else. Don't get in my boy's way. He'll be right in the middle of it."
