The United States had a 2-0 lead, but lost to Slovenia in overtime 3-2.

Mursak went on to score the winner 38 seconds into overtime to give Slovenia the two points.

The Americans did get a little boost with a point. The men's tournament will take the three group winners and the best runner-up of the three runners-up in the quarterfinals.

As for Pavel Datsyuk and the Olympic Athletes of Russia, they also blew a 2-0 lead to Slovakia, but lost in regulation 3-2.

Vladislav Gavrikov and Kirill Kaprizov gave OAR a 2-0 lead a little over four minutes into the game.

But Slovakia the last three goals of the game as Martin Bakos sparked the fight back with a goal and an assist on Peter Ceresnak's winner with 1:30 to go in the third period.
