Stephan through the fourth now. Leadoff single, but then gets the next guy on a FC and the final two swinging.

To think, the FSL assignment for Stephan to begin this year was considered a nice, aggressive move by the Yankees. Turns out even that wasn't enough. He's absolutely destroying the FSL the same way he killed the NYPL last year after being drafted.

Not long until he gets the next challenge. Past few years it was all about our bats, now there are 5-6 arms to follow, who are all electric every time out.

He reminds me a lot of DeGrom.

I would be surprise if he’s moved before July as he already skipped Charleston. With that said, the sooner out of that Tampa Black Hole the better for us with MiLB.

Have you noticed how crappy the camera views are for Trenton home games on milb? They don't have the centerfield viewpoint anymore.

Yeah, but it's better than nothing like we have in Tampa.

    Interesting 3rd.

    Bunt single.

Runner to 2nd on wild pick off attempt.

Groundout. 1 out. Runner to 3rd.

    Wild pitch. Runner scores.

Strikeout next batter. Wild pitch. Batter reaches.

    Double play.

Final line of Erik Swanson: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 8 K. Working on 23 consecutive scoreless innings. Season ERA is now 0.44. #Yankees
Another secondary upside piece that Cashman was able to include in a trade package. And that piece is turning into something very intriguing.

The Yankees minor league scouting team is really good. Finding guys like Swanson and King, among others, shows they really scout the other teams well.

Kudos to Cashman and the Steinbrenners for building this operation.

I still think he should be in AAA now regardless of his 40-man status.

So many talented starting pitching prospects right now.

Would be cool to see how this thread ranks 'em:

Sheff, Loaisiga, Medina, Abreu, Tate, Freicer, Adams, Sauer, Acevedo, Stephan, King, Swanson, Whitlock.

Obviously Perez' struggles and Acevedo's concussion have been rough this season but I'm going off past performance, stuff and pedigree as well.

I'll take a stab at this, although this is really difficult at this time:

    Sheffield
    Abreu
    Loaisiga
    Stephan
    Acevedo
    Medina
    Whitlock
    Freicer
    Swanson
    Sauer
    Tate
    Adams
    King

I am really down on Adams. Also, Sauer may be to low, but i have seen very little of him so far. Only reason Medina is higher, as I have really not seen him, is because of teh comments on him - that he would be in play for teh #1 pick if he was eligible.

I am very high on Abreu - health is the only issue with him, IMO.

It's very subjective because some posters may prioritize proximity to the majors more than others. I try to incorporate that with pure stuff, pitchability, health, floor and ceiling.

    Sheff
    Loaisiga
    Abreu
    Medina
    Freicer
    Tate
    Stephan
    Acevedo
    Adams
    Swanson
    Sauer
    King
    Whitlock

Re: 2018 Yankees Minor League News & Notes

If we're doing this like a weekly "Power Rankings" kind of thing, then this is my version (adding Schmidt), though Tate, Loaisiga, and Stephan are all 4a, 4b, 4c to me right now:
    1. Sheffield
    2. Abreu
    3. Medina
    4. Loaisiga
    5. Tate
    6. Stephan
    7. Freicer
    8. Sauer
    9. Schmidt
    10. Acevedo
    11. Whitlock
    12. Swanson
    13. Adams
    14. King

Re: 2018 Yankees Minor League News & Notes

So that's 13-14 starting prospects legitimately worth following.

It's crazy that you can get to 14 without even including Deivi Garcia, Glenn Otto, Nolan Martinez, Juan DePaula, or Juan Then. Nick Nelson is in their Pipeline top 30 as well.

There's probably a literal 20 starting pitching prospects worth following in the Yankees system at this moment. That is insane.

I want to say Chance and Acevedo are the only guys to throw more than 130 IP in a season.

    EDIT: And Mike King

Sounds right, it's why I originally had Adams & Acevedo much higher. I went back and forth on those two.
