One of those three (Rijo) was already traded at the deadline to the Twins in the Austin/Lynn swap. Medina and Gil (and Pereira) are still Yankees.

Yep, as we know Rijo was moved as well as De Paula who was one of three Yankees who made the top 20 in the Penn League.. Keep the Arms coming!!

I'm not a scout but i did see MK pitch multiple times this season at AA and AAA. Other then Abreu's Trenton gem MK had the best top 3 outings I had seen this season. MK doesn't have insane stuff but can hit 96, He pitches more around 93-94 but changes speeds, Hits corners on both sides of the plate and is as deceptive a pitcher that I've seen in quite awhile. MK also pitches at a quick tempo and fields his position well.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do next year. MK and Frank German are two pitcher you don't see rated as top prospects that I'm really high on. JMO

His approach bears a not insignificant resemblance to Porcello.

Thanks for the scouting report. From the sounds of it, we could have ourselves a solid mid rotation arm. I sure as hell wouldn't say no to that. And from all accounts he's a polished guy, so he shouldn't need much more time in the minors. He should be an important depth piece for next year, and with the inevitable injuries that hit rotations, he can get a shot pretty quickly.

IMO, it's way to early to make any kind of call on German. Needs to pitch a lot more before getting too excited.

King strikes me as the type of pitcher who should get a lot of called strikes on pitches just off the plate. I also liked his tempo teh couple of times I saw him live.

Jack Norris also had a chat today on that list.

To me, the big surprise is that Acevedo is not on there, although per the chat, he is in the very next tier.

Jacob Lindgren anyone? Out righted by Atlanta...

Re: 2018 Yankees Minor League News & Notes

KLaw chat from today. He really doesn't like Frazier.

Question - I've been down on Clint Frazier for awhile and wonder what your thoughts were on him and his trade value? To me h is upside is .250 with 20 homers.

KLaw - Those two numbers don't give much of a picture. I think he's a sub-.300 OBP guy even if fully healthy, and while he has 30+ homer power I'm not sure he hits enough to get to it. A .280-.290 OBP with a low .400s slug in a left fielder is probably not a regular. He has to hit for a really high average to make this work. He has the bat speed to do so, but hasn't shown the approach yet.

Question - Does Andujar, Clint Frazier and Chance Adams get it done for Kluber for the Yanks?

KLaw - Andujar and two decidedly second- or third-tier prospects? Come on.

As per RAB We have signed C Ryan Lavarnway to a Milb deal. Odd move for us being we normally go D first with our C insurance signing.

To me, it raises the question of whether or not Higgy could be removed from the 40-man roster to protect someone in the Rule 5 draft.

Since Lavarnway signed a mL deal, he gives them protection without eating a roster spot.
Forgive me for taking the Contrarian view
