    Updated..

Yankees with Stanton and retained money are at 130M. 67M short of 197M before arbitration and benefits factored in.

    Re: The 197M thread.

    MLBTR's projected 2018 arbs:
    Yankees (8)
    • Adam Warren (5.036) – $3.1MM
    • Didi Gregorius (4.159) – $9.0MM
    • Dellin Betances (4.078) – $4.4MM
    • Sonny Gray (4.061) – $6.6MM
    • Austin Romine (4.045) – $1.2MM
    • Aaron Hicks (4.041) – $2.9MM
    • Tommy Kahnle (3.015) – $1.3MM
    • Chasen Shreve (2.167) – $900K
    That's 29.4 mil total + 130 = 159.4

37M below the tax then. 15M for benefits, so something like 20M for a SP and moves in season unless they make another move

I just can't see Ellsbury and Headley both being on the team. One, possibly both, gets moved.

Headley can easily be moved if need be.

It's Ellsbury that won't be anywhere near as easy to move.

I say, bite the bullet with Ellsbury and eat 50MM leaving him at 3/18. I think some team would take Ellsbury at 6MM a year for 3 years. We'd save 6MM a year and a valuable roster spot.

Gardner-Hicks-Judge-Stanton. Move Frazier plus others for a young, cost-controller TOR starter.

You forgot one small detail, Ellsbury doesn’t want to waive his no trade clause.
God, I love Yankee fans as they're never satisfied!

Do they really want to give Romine 1.2 million? Dude is only worth league minimum. Same goes for Shreve.

    Re: The 197M thread.

We are about $14M under the luxury threshold right now.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...PAvRQ/pubhtml#

Click on Yankees Tax Tracker Tab and also factor in $3M saving on AAV which has been added in yet for some reason. Also Cot's has Yankees arb projections around $34M while other places like MLBTR have it more around $30M, so that might give us $4M more to work with.
    Let's Go Yankees!

    McCanns 5.5
    Pre-arb player 6+
    Remaining 40 man 2

Cots shows the Yankees 11MM under the threshold. Another move necessary.

They haven't factored in money coming Yankees way from Marlins.

Ah, that's where the 3MM reference came from

Just saw the links and it's actually right what I was suggesting. I said around $14M-$18M depending on arb players... Sherman is saying $15M-$18M.

He estimates 28.4MM for arb players. Cots estimates over 34MM.

MLBTR projections add up to 29.4 so who knows who is right.

Edit, he also doesn't take the remaining 40 man into account.

I'm still not sure on the 3MM. If the Marlins don't need to pay it unless Stanton doesn't opt out, does it get factored in now?

How many times is this question going to be asked as there is general confusion about that 30M not being paid until after 2020 and its affect on the AAV for 2018, 2019 and 2020 luxury tax threshold.

He's never going to see the field here though. I think he'll move on to somewhere where he can actually see the field on a regular basis.
