    Yankees News & Notes

Figured we could use a thread like this, instead of posting every bit of Yankees news in the Hot Stove thread.

It's a minor surgery compared to labrum or rotator cuff surgery. He should be fine!
Poor ownership can hold a baseball team down for years!

Based on what I have read the past couple of years, this is a major loss to the system.

if this is true, the Yankees development system took a major hit this off-season with the loos of both Dembo and Paul.

WFAN mentioned he hurt it in April hitting an OF wall? Donít remember it being at beginning of the season.

Maybe. I was confused by their report, thought it was later in the season.

Twins sign former Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda
The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday that they have signed former Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda to a two-year contract.

Pineda, a free agent, is recovering from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, performed in July. He might not be available for the 2018 season, but he could be ready for spring 2019.

Ooh, I like this as a no risk, no cost mL signing. Could be the stopgap infielder, but also has some remaining upside due to mL performance and pedigree.

Interesting K/BB numbers. Not sure how he is defensively. Stats wise doesn't look great.

Yeah seems like a low risk possible reward signing.

Though his prospect shine is gone. Unless they find something to turn around that Atlanta couldn't I doubt he makes any impact.

The 2018 @Yankees roster will have 43% of all batted balls hit 115 MPH+ since 2015 with Judge & Stanton and 60% of all pitches thrown 101 MPH+ since 2015 with Chapman. 🔥🔥🔥
