Per source, Yankees and Dellin Betances settle on a $5.1 million deal for 2018, avoiding arbitration.

Randy Levine was undoubtedly looking forward to that hearing.

    Jerry Crasnick:
Free agent Wade LeBlanc has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Yankees. It includes an invite to big league camp and an out clause at the end of spring training. He’ll earn $1M if he makes the big club.

Maybe, although LeBlanc is better against righties so Shreve is the only true lefty option. That said its really just a competition of who is better fit at soaking up innings that don't matter. Probably injury insurance more than anything. Even then you gotta like some of our minor leaguers more than him.

I was thinking there isn't room for both on the 25-man. Shreve is out of options and LeBlanc has an opt out at end of ST. They are set to make similar money. One or both will be gone come opening day. Agree, none of the above is a viable option.

Off topic, but can someone remind the name of the RF for yankees who made that crazy good throw and threw someone out a few years back. Sounds vague buts it was only play the guy made in his limited time.

funny he pitched one inning for us in 2014 (2hits, 1 hit batter 1 walk and 1 intentional walk)
hopefully he got better. I still feel we need a LHP.

    It's been a while, but I think that's when/why it started.

For some reason I had thought the GGBG had come from Pete Abraham, the writer of the Lohud Blog before Chad Jennings, or at least that's where I first saw it. Hm - just realized he had gone to the Boston Globe as did Jennings - the Globe must have a Yankee complex

Guess I'm wrong, but for some reason I remember it being about a gold glove. Maybe because we thought he got fleeced out of one.

The best part of that throw was the fact ARod didn't have to do anything but catch the ball. He fielded it right in the tag path.
