Some early lists BA has put out:

    Top 50 college players: http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft...rUPl1z5dfr0.97

Top 50 high school players: http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft...WvxKeUCUW31.97

Some familiar names in the college list:

22 - Tristan Beck was taken this past draft as a DES who missed all of last season with a back injury.
34 - Zach Lingenfelter was taken in the '16 draft out of HS. He is eligible this year as a DES.
36 - Zack Hess was also taken in the '16 draft out of HS and is also a DES.
41 - Jimmy Herron was taken this past draft as a DES. Helped his stock a lot this summer on the cape.

Jordan Jackson lines a two-strike single to LCF with two outs in the 8th to end @Hjellebean's no-hit bid. That'll end his night, and he tips cap to Jackson as he leaves mound. #class

    Hjelle: 7.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 13 K

MLB Pipeline @MLBPipeline 52m52 minutes ago
    Kentucky's 6-foot-11 right-hander (yes, 6'11") is No. 34 on our Top 50 @MLBDraft Prospects list: http://atmlb.com/2AxQ74v

Check this Sean Hjelle beanpole out. Last name pronounced "jelly". Amazing dude to watch highlights of - the height never gets old. I'd imagine there's a boatload of room for projection considering his weight right now He might always be skinny, but he'll definitely fill out a bit as he gets older.

    Jaret Wright's 2005 Cy Young Season: 20-3, 3.04 ERA

Not to criticize, as I know very little about him.........

However, his windup motion seems quite long. Looks like it would be relatively easy to steal off him. Maybe he has a different set-up when guys are on base???

Need to understand more about his stuff, and other.

    Thanks!!

That's a much quicker windup. Seems liek a lot of moving parts flaing all over the place, but for a guy that tall, it's to be expected.

Sure looks more in sync then our former Basketball player-pitcher 1st rounder who was also that tall.

Keith Law in his mock draft has Yanks taking prep righty Cole Winn. Would be a good pick

    23. New York Yankees: Cole Winn, RHP, Orange Lutheran HS, Orange, California. I've heard the Yankees mostly associated with college guys and a few premium high school athletes, but Winn is the only high school arm I've heard here, perhaps because he'd fit with longtime scouting director Damon Oppenheimer's affinity for polished prep arms from Southern California.

Ginn in the 2nd round would be fantastic. That looks like a Yankee draft though, plus I like loading up on pitchers right now.

    Re: 2018 MLB Draft

1:23 Yankees: Triston Casas, 3B/1B, American Heritage (Fla.) | Video

    https://2080baseball.com/2018/05/201...st-run-shadow/

Breakdown: The Yankees have a stacked minor league system without glaring needs, and Casas’s potential double-plus raw pop is intriguing enough to pop here, noting he’s unlikely to make it back to the Yankees when next they pick. Evaluators have a long history with Casas, who put together a loud showing at USA Baseball’s National High School Invitational a month ago in front of dozens of decision makers. –NF

Also considered: Tristan Beck (RHP, Stanford Univ.); Jordan Groshans (SS, Magnolia (Texas))

It's hard to tell especially this year with picking later in the 1st round as it depends on who drops to them that is high on their draft board.

I think you're right. We don't seem to sign many pitchers out of IFA market.

Yup. I'm just going by their recent history. They seem to be targeting pitching, particularly righties, in the draft and hitters in IFA.

    23. New York Yankees | Logan Gilbert, RHP, Stetson
While Gilbert has gone a solid 6-1, 2.89 with 87 strikeouts in 62 innings this spring, his raw stuff was even better last summer in the Cape Cod League. Few organizations scout the Cape as heavily as the Yankees do and they will remember that Gilbert was a projected top 10 pick after his performance there. (DR)

    23. New York Yankees Joey Bart, C, Georgia Tech

The Yankees have been one of the more conservative drafting teams over the last decade. They are the one team I would be most shocked by taking a prep talent. They were linked to several prep players and then passed on all of them to take a proven college performer, even though he had injured himself during the college baseball season. Bart has been a pleasant surprise for me, in terms of being a name I did not expect to see pop as much as he has. The Georgia Tech program, while talented in general, has not been the best developers of talent the past few years. Bart is rather clearly the top college catcher in this class, with a bat that has potential plus power. He is an average defender and there are questions about his swing and miss, but the general bar for production is so much lower with catchers that, even if he is a 35-grade hitter, he could still hit enough home runs to be a starter down the road.

Yet over the last 10 years, they've chosen a prep prospect 6 times with their first pick.

    23. N.Y. Yankees – Xavier Edwards, 2B, North Broward Prep HS (FL)
Like Oakland, the Yankees keep an open mind with high picks but likely aren’t looking for a high-school pitcher here unless one of the better prep arms falls here for some reason. Edwards is in play at a number of picks higher than this one and has the electrifying 80-grade speed to play everyday in Yankee Stadium. Pennsylvania prep CF Mike Siani has also been mentioned her

    23. New York Yankees: Jordyn Adams, OF, Green Hope HS (Cary, North Carolina)If Adams will sign and forego college football (he's a North Carolina commit), he could go as high as 16, but the Yankees have been the most strongly connected to him lately; signing him might require that they go under slot at pick 61.
