Somehow they'll manage 5-11 and a crappy draft pick. No doubt in my mind.

I've been saying this since summer and it's already starting to play out. Even with Jaxxy's big showing in London on Sunday, it's not far-fetched that the Jets could be 3-2 after 5 weeks. They'd be a win away -- or maybe already there -- from having no shot at Darnold, with a defense that's likely to improve as the season progresses even though the schedule toughens up later. 5-11/6-10 sounds about right (or wrong, as it were).

    They can't even lose right.

That game today was actually pretty entertaining. I didn't think I'd be saying that this year about any Jets game. I agree with what you guys are saying; they're going to manage to win 6 games because no one else in the league is any good either and end up picking 11th or something.

Meanwhile the Giants are looking good to pick Eli's replacement this year.

I just saw that the Jets @ Dolphins game on 10/22 is on Fox. Any idea why? I can't recall the Jets ever being on Fox unless they're hosting an NFC team.

EDIT: I see the Giants are hosting Seattle later that afternoon on CBS, so they probably don't want the games to overlap on the same channel. Still an oddity.

One of the strangest (worst, but also bizarrely unnecessary) call reversals of all time. I literally can't believe the Patriots were just handed that. If that happened in the playoffs, that's as bad as the tuck rule thing.

This is one of those few moments i wish i was an NFL head coach because i would have thrown my headset at the refs and taken the team off the field. What utter bull................, of course the Patriots get it in their favor

This is literally the worst officiated game I've seen in all my years of following the NFL.

Hahahaha and they lost by the 7 points the Patriots were so kindly handed! Nobody cares about the Jets, if it was a playoff contender that happened to, there might be actual backlash.

The Jets continue their march to the 9th pick in the draft.

I'd love to know how close Goodell was when the "call to New York" was made on that touchdown.

Re: 2017 New York Jets thread

The other half of that call is that it's the worst rule in the NFL and needs to be changed, so of course it benefits the Patriots (like our friend, the tuck rule).

If you fumble anywhere else on the field and it goes out of play, you get the ball back. You fumble in the end zone, and despite the fact that you are about to score, the other team gets the ball (and not even at the goal line, they are just given a free 25 yards, why not!). Gigantic, arbitrary swing of the game by potentially 7 points. Not that the TE fumbled in this case (or that there's anywhere near conclusive evidence to overturn a call of no fumble).

If this call went against the Patriots, they would put it up there with Goodell's persecution of poor Brady as another cross that they have to bear, those sad Patriot fan souls.
