    Piecing the 2018 schedule

Because its never too early to plan ahead...

    According to this article

    NEXT YEAR

The Yankees open the 2018 season at Toronto on March 29 and start at home April 2 against Tampa Bay, according to a details of the draft preliminary schedule obtained by The Associated Press. Games could be shifted because of national television.

Doesnt make sense that the season opens on a thursday BUT Easter is Sun 4/1 so assuming that factors into it?
    Guess its a 4 game series @ TOR 3/29 - 4/1

The new CBA provides 4 additional off days, so looks like they're starting the regular season mid-week while still ending on a Sunday.

Yankees play NL East. Which means Mets go from 4 games to 6 games. Guessing won't be consecutive games like in NL central and west years.

Yankees are long overdue to come to Philly, so I'm expecting several games here.

last few times the NL East cycle the schedule makers skipped Philly

    2006 interleague - 3@WAS, 3@PHI, 3vsMIA, 3vsATL, 3vsNYM

    2009 interleague - 3vsWAS, 3@MIA, 3@ATL, 3@NYM, 3vsNYM EDIT: 3vsPHI

    2012 interleague - 3@ATL, 3@WAS, 3vsATL, 3@NYM, 3vsNYM, 2vsCIN

    2015 interleague - 2@MIA, 2vsMIA, 2@WAS, 2vsWAS, 3@ATL, 3vsNYM, 3@NYM

2018 interleague - assuming either 3@/vs PHI, 3vsATL (although wish they would visit the new Sun Trust Park), 2@NYM, 2vsNYM

I believe we played PHL in NY in 2009 for a few games (not postseason). I remember a walkoff HR off Lidge.

Philly had 3 game weekend Series at YS. Tons of very arrogant Philly's fans because their team had won their second WS in 106 years! I believe Philly also came to YS in 2010. Could be 4 games against Philly next season. Two at each park.

There is this tidbit of info that may or may not take shape in 2018.

    Food for thought.

O Sweeet Molly the rainmaker - please let us not do this NFL London thing.

I can go either way, as I live about halfway between the two parks.

Attend games at both and root for both teams, so this series will be a bit of a problem for me.

I have a feeling for sure Yankees go to Philly, and for sure ATL comes to the Bronx. Now whether or not ATL is a split 2 and 2 is another question.
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Just remember you visit 3 of the 4 other NL East teams. 1 will probably be a weekend, the other 2 will be mid week 2 game series games.

BTW, Mets open against the Cardinals at home on March 29th. If you guys are home that next Monday, then it probably means the Mets go right on the road.

Not really. There have been plenty of times where the Yankees and Mets have been home at the same time the last few seasons.

Of course it's a Monday through Wednesday series. Will make doing the entire 3 game series difficult!

That seems kind of early. Thought that happens in the middle of September.
