    I just hope we have some True Yankees after Gardner's gone. Seems like that would be a lot to lose at once otherwise.

    Gardner has been fantastic of late. So glad he's playing every day and there's no hint of Girardi trying to give Ellsbury starts at his expense.

    In the past Ellsbury was arguably considered to be a better player than Gardner, or at least equal.

    I wonder why Gardner has been able to get past all the criticism and prove he's an asset, whereas Ellsbury seems to have no bruised ego at all.

    Is he even aware of the criticism? Seems to be only on internet fan forums. The media has always liked him.

    i've always considered them to be the same player. ellsbury getting the money he did was stupid.
