    Heh, poor Hixie, heh.

Girardi is unable to sit Judge because he's hitting home runs through walls.
He's unable to sit Gardner, because he's a veteran.
He's unable to sit Ellsbury, be cause he's a veteran and a cleanup hitter.

So, poor old Hixie is on the bench again.

Joe must be beside himself as well.

Ellsbury batting cleanup still confounds me. Is there some new advanced metric that the rest of us are not privy to that is guiding this decision, or is this simply the epitome of Joe's L/R/L/R obsession?

It's a bit odd but hard to find complaint with a guy hitting 300/350/400. And lineup construction in the end really doesn't effect the outcome a who lot.

If your really wanted to optimize the line up by the book tonight it would look like this

    Headley
    Romine
    Ellsbury
    Castro
    Judge
    Gardner
    Bird
    Torreyes
    CC

Didi supposed to start a rehab assignment today. I don't know the exact time table for return but assuming no setbacks probably 5 -10 days.

Sanchez is supposed to start a throwing program next Wednesday so he's probably 2-3 weeks away.

Did anyone read the article in the Daily News today about how our starters have been pitching better since Romine became the regular catcher? I hope that is not true since hopefully Sanchez returns in a few more weeks.

You mean this past Wednesday? He's already "dry swinging" too:

Even better. I skimmed the article and misread which Wednesday.

I like the "fight" in this team. Put the tying or winning run up in the ninth of our last 2 losses.

Nope. Carter got the AB. And of course K'ed. Nice move by Girardi.

    Are you serious? Lol

Carter came in when no one was on base. Holliday came in with a chance to tie the game, but yet you are saying "nice move Girardi."

What would you rather have had the pitcher bat instead of Carter?

Yeah, I have no problem with that move either. That's a perfect use of Carter. It just didn't work out.
