100% no brainer to take Pineda out in the 7th. Even the announcers was saying it. Girardi is very brainless.

Get rid of the binder and it's owner.
They sent Higgy down because they did not want him sitting on the bench behind Sanchez which makes sense. But sitting so Romine can play?

I am convinced that there is absolutely no move that Girardi could (or could not) make that would satisfy ClownPickle. The past 2 games have been fairly textbook easy for Joe. Pineda threw 93 pitches giving up 2 hits and was perfect for 6 1/3. How can you complain about this?

I like how even though Chapman was warmed up he gave the 9th to Shreve as the lead expanded and knowing that he would be optioned for Monty. He finally got Higgy into the game though only behind the plate.

It's not even worth pointing out. It's a waste of your time, the guy will never be happy with Joe or Cashman's moves.

And by using Shreve Joe gave the rest of the overworked bullpen two days off.

I figured as much from the lack of Bird talk on the pre-game. How I do hate the binder.

You let him pitch to and strike out Longoria, but yank him against Rickey Weeks? Moron.

Not starting Gardner against a lefty but sending up as a pinch hitter against a lefty.

Also pulling Mitchell after just 4 batters. He should have at least went 2 innings.

i guess when the manager has become unpopular it's suddenly very easy to pick on specific moves. it's mostly not a big deal. even not pinch hitting for kozma with bird is understandable if bird is hurt more than they let on.

Sounds like it was a pitch count-driven decision? But I admit I literally texted WTF??? to some friends immediately after the Longoria strikeout when Girardi started towards the mound. Weeks really shouldn't scare anyone in the 4th inning, regardless of what he did in that prior at bat.

By the way, is it just me or is Longoria doing a reeeally good Yukon Cornelius impression these days?

weeks literally can't hit a slider. it was just dumb pitch selection in that one at bat. he got destroyed later on by monty.

This. Don't throw fastballs to Rickie Weeks, particularly inside where he can pull it with that swing.

Mitchell should be pitching multiple innings in a game to save going to the back end guys every game. Take yesterday. Mitchell had retired 4 batters. He could easily have pitched the 7th and even the 8th once the Yankees broke open the game.. And you have Warren so not a big deal if pitching multiple innings meant Mitchell can't pitch the next day.
