Keeper deadline and FINAL KEEPERS post

The draft is 3/27 at 8:15pm.

This means that trading season is open. Keepers are due 3/25 by 9pm, so I can input them on Sunday 3/26 before the draft.

If you haven't posted your keepers either here or in the unofficial thread, you will get no keepers.

    Have at it.

Re: Keeper deadline and FINAL KEEPERS post

Here are my keepers currently (in bold)

    MVP Bryant, 14th, last keep
    Machado, 2nd, 2nd keep (with 1-round bonus)
    JD Martinez, 14th, last keep
AJ Pollock, 3rd, 2nd keep (with 1-round bonus)
    Arrieta, 17th, last keep (sadface)
    Fulmer, 22nd, first keep (yay)
Lester, 1st round (with 1-round bonus)
    Aaron Nola, 18th, 2nd keep
Edwin Diaz, SEA Closer, 21st round, first keep
Andrew Miller, 4th round, 1st keep (with 1-round bonus)

As you can see, apart from Lester and Pollock and Andrew Miller, I'm over one. Willing to trade someone like JD Martinez and Lester/Diaz with a mLer for a keeper upgrade.

    My minors are:

    Glasnow
    Happ
    Keller
    Allard
    McKenzie

    Available for trade are:

    Allard
    Happ
    Reid-Foley
    Yohander Mendez
    Mike Soroka

Make me an offer. Don't let a keeper go to waste.

These are last year's rounds. You need to move them two rounds higher to keep them. Ergo, Votto is unkeepable, Seager would have to be kept in the 1st round and Khris Davis in the 7th. Rodon would be 8th and Giles in the 3rd.

    So...yeah.

OK, thanks, so be it. I think I get it. I will not keep Seager or Votto then.
If I understand the rules, I would have to draft Seager #1 in the 10th slot.

right...because I won't find other guys that are better in the two rounds prior....I think I am getting this....
but I promise I will be an active - if non-successful - manager.

correct. As you get to rounds 12-14+ you start drafting the nobody's so getting solid starters in late rounds = good keepers.

Gdn was actually agreeing with him. FUTURE is being very benevolent in helping you out there. As someone who played in this league for a long time, you will be shocked how fast the real talent dries up in an 18-20 team league. Gdn's saying that the talent will be drying up by rounds 12-14 and you'lll have to be digging deep by then. FUTURE is absolutely correct that a decent player in Round 21 is often far more valuable as a keeper than a really good player in Round 2 or 3, because you're going to get someone good in Round 2 or 3 anyway, while you're going to be getting a nobody in Round 21. This league is often won on who had the minor leaguers or shocking turnarounds who turn into stars who they get to keep late in the draft. Someone like gdn, who has Kris Bryant and Jake Arrieta lined up for Rounds 14 and 17, is in great shape to start the draft.

I was actually saying that the talent will be gone loooooong before Rounds 12-14. More like Rounds 9-11.
