    Unanimous
Joins Cappy and Kubec as Yanks to do it unanimously.

Credit where it's due: Props to whoever the Boston writer was not to try to ingratiate himself to Boston readers by ruining the unanimity, voting Benintendi with a cooked-up nonsense argument based on Benintendi hitting the Yanks better than Judge hit the Sox. There's always the risk of a grandstanding voter when you're looking for unanimity.

Happy for him. It was well-deserved and his season added more excitement to this team than we've seen in years.

    Congrats AJudge.

We should have back to back RoYs now.

Hopefully Gleyber gets this award a year from now.

Agreed, and a bit surprised to be honest.

So was I.. I thought for sure there would be the one "look at me" guy who decided that because Benitendi outhit Judge on days where Jupiter aligned with Saturn and Pluto was visible with the Hubble at just the right ascension/declination on Patriots day in Boston, that it would not be unanimous..

I am pleasantly surprised that no one tried to make a name for themselves with some outlandish reason why one of the best rookie seasons in MLB history ever had by anyone anywhere anytime should not have been this year's ROY..
I used to think I was crazy... Now I am sure of it..

HOF is a wider voting pool so yeah, no chance for Mo to be unanimous. No chance for Jeter either.

So Michael Kay said on his radio show that a very credible source told him Aaron Judge won the MVP award.

If it's true that would be amazing

I saw this on facebook from a couple sources but took them with a grain of salt. If Judge does get it I will be surprised.

Michael Kay is annoying af but I doubt he'd put this out there unless he had very good reason to believe it true. He's pretty reliable.

Well there's no way Jeter should be unanimous, but Mariano? He's the undisputed greatest of all time. There has never been such an ice-veined consistent performer in all situations for such a long period of time, and humble as anyone on this planet ever has been. Never showed up anyone, just did his job, and did it better than anyone. I can even see a non-unanimous vote leading to blowing up the entire HOF ballot system in outrage

Only a small handful of folks would know for certain, so if it is true then it was leaked. Not sure why anybody would want to leak that information so close to the scheduled announcement.

This would be the greatest possible result of an already great season that didn't end in a championship.

I doubt it's true though. Altuve had so many unimportant but voter-loved factors going for him.

So he posted a tweet saying he has a reliable source that Judge won the voting and then said he didn't believe it was true. That makes a bunch of sense.

Seems to be saying that he doesn't believe his otherwise credible source. If that's that case he shouldn't have opened his tweet to begin with.

He didn't just tweet it he said it on his show. If it's factual - meaning that this person who is, I believe he said something along the lines of "very close to the situation," said it - then I see no problem with him saying it. It's not like he used it as a tease or promoted it in some way. He just said it during the broadcast. I don't know how it coincided with the tweet though, timing-wise.

I'd be happy if Mariano was unanimous but there is going to be at least one writer who uses the "he only pitched one inning at a time argument" to justify not voting for him on the first ballot.

And that writer must be promptly outed, tarred and feathered, publicly humiliated, and banished from baseball circles for eternity

Why? The one inning argument is valid one.

It's not like voting - "Oh I just don't think anyone should be unanimous so I voted no."

If Greg Maddux wasn't unanimous I'm not sure we'll ever get someone unanimous.

I doubt it. I truly believe the BB writers will only vote a,Yankees player for a major award when it is so obvious they have no choice. This goes back to 1978.
