    Senator Claire McCaskill
A good prosecutor would have known these facts were relevant to the questions asked. It's clear Attorney General Sessions misled the Senate — the question is, why? I’ve been on the Senate Armed Services Committee for 10 years, and in that time, have had no call from, or meeting with, the Russian ambassador. Ever. That’s because ambassadors call members of Foreign Relations Committee. Attorney General Sessions should resign.
Yeah. except for that meeting you DID have with the Russian Ambassador.

Suddenly, she adds the modifier about one-on-one meetings. Sort of different from "no call from, or meeting with, the Russian Ambassador. Ever." Should we also be calling for Senator McCaskill's resignation? Or, are meetings with Russian officials, followed by lies about those meetings, only bad when Republicans are doing it?

"But what people tend to forget...is that being a Yankee is as much about character as it is about performance; as much about who you are as what you do."

difference is secrecy of the communications.

if sessions contact with this guy was recorded and public then there isnt much of a problem.

problem, of course, is that these two instances are likely not the complete extent of contact that goes back to 90's

    Re: President Donald Trump

Here is a who's who in 45*'s staff loving it up with Putin's delegates.

Rolling Stone: A Who's Who of the Trump Campaign's Russia Connections

Everything we know about the members of Trump's campaign who had contact with the Russian government
    t

Paul Manafort, former Trump campaign manager
In January, The New York Times reported that the FBI – with help from the National Security Agency, the CIA and the Treasury Department's financial crimes unit – is investigating whether intercepted communications and financial transactions demonstrate links between Russian intelligence officers and Trump's former campaign manager. (Manafort's defense was that if he did have contact with the Russians, he didn't do it knowingly. "It's not like these people wear badges that say, 'I'm a Russian intelligence officer,'" he told The Times.)

Carter Page, former Trump foreign policy adviser
The same Times report that detailed the investigation into Manafort said investigations into two other Trump associates – Carter Page and Roger Stone – were also ongoing. Page was named a foreign policy advisor by the Trump campaign in March 2016 but took a leave of absence from the campaign in September, when reports emerged that U.S. intelligence agencies were investigating his interactions with senior Russian officials, including former Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin and Deputy Chief for Internal Policy Igor Diveykin – the man U.S. officials believed was in charge of "intelligence collected by Russian agencies about the U.S. election."

    Roger Stone, informal adviser
A longtime Republican operative and self-described "rat................er," Stone was in contact with Trump throughout the run-up to the election and often appeared on television and at rallies in support of the GOP nominee, though he served no official role in the campaign.

General Michael Flynn, former Trump national security adviser
    -edit-
According to a Thursday New York Times report, "among Mr. Trump's inner circle, it is Mr. Flynn who appears to have been the main interlocutor with the Russian envoy" during the campaign.

    Jeff Sessions, Trump attorney general
A bombshell Washington Post report published Wednesday night names at least two occasions on which Sessions, the former Alabama senator recently confirmed as Trump's attorney general, met with Kislyak, the Russian ambassador.

Jared Kushner, Trump son-in-law and senior adviser
In addition to his repeated contacts with Flynn and Sessions during the campaign, the New Yorker reports that Kislyak met with Kushner during a previously undisclosed meeting at Trump Tower in December. The White House told the magazine that the point of their confab was to create "a more open line of communication in the future."

This idea that we'll just throw everyone out and replace them with honest, selfless statesmen who are loyal not to party but to truth, justice and the American way is...amusing.

Geeze............This Russian/45* connection is like Flint's dirty water, never ending.

British and Dutch intel report Putin people and Trump people met in Europe throughout campaign.

    http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-dru...eam-and-russia

American allies, including the British and the Dutch, had provided information describing meetings in European cities between Russian officials — and others close to Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin — and associates of President-elect Trump, according to three former American officials who requested anonymity in discussing classified intelligence. Separately, American intelligence agencies had intercepted communications of Russian officials, some of them within the Kremlin, discussing contacts with Mr. Trump’s associates.

Well, she was elected, not appointed. She could be voted out; he can't. Were her meetings one-on-one?

She was one of about 12-15 Senators who met with Russian officials over Putin's sanction halting all adoptions of Russian orphans by Americans.
Not really close to meeting with a well-known Ruskie spy during a presidential election.

Who cares. Pretending like Mccaskill making a false tweet is the same as Sessions making a false statement to Congress while under oath to determine if he should be the chief law enforcement officer and chief lawyer of the United States government is laughable. No matter how many times Maynerd and Hoodoo want to say otherwise.

If making false tweets was a crime, Trump would be doing a life sentence.

But seriously McCaskill is a moron for making such a stupid and easily verified false statement on twitter.

    Re: President Donald Trump

Some things just make you shake your head.........

Trump's team nixed ethics course for White House staff

    Source: Politico

President Donald Trumps team rejected a course for senior White House staff, cabinet nominees and other political appointees that would have provided training on leadership, ETHICS and management, according to documents obtained by POLITICO.

The documents suggest the program could have better prepared officials for working within existing laws and executive orders, and provided guidance on how to navigate Senate confirmation for nominees and political appointees, how to deal with congressional and media scrutiny, and how to work with Congress and collaborate with agencies some of the same issues that have become major stumbling blocks in the early days of the administration.

But the contract was never awarded because after the election the transition team shifted its priorities, according to a letter the General Services Administration sent to bidders such as the Partnership for Public Service. The program was expected to cost $1 million, the documents show.

It is unclear if the administration put in place its own program or offered any rigorous training to appointees and nominees across the government. The contract-based training program was authorized in 2000. The Obama and Bush transitions both received the training.

    http://www.politico.com/story/2017/0...e-house-235586

Stupid bastards thought they were above any training. They knew/know it all.

i hope this yemen thing doesn't turn into another benghazi. terrible trend for politicizing military operations at the tactical level.

talk about reducing the need to have troops in there in the first place, talk about strategy and tradeoffs. litigating fleeting decisions mostly made by military professionals isn't a good look.

More than likely, true. I think this phenomenon should have been quashed at the least, 3 generations back.
