Surprised Devers isn't #1 Like all other Red Sox privilege. Benintendi didn't deserve it. Neither does Moncada at this point.

Kap would be way up there if not for the injuries. Littell definitely needs more respect. Why did Sheffield fall too? Man they hate the Yankees prospects.

I am surprised that Schmidt is so high, in spite of the fact that he will not pitch until the Summer of 2018 at the earliest. If he gets such a rating, then Kap should also get that lofty status, since he will also be coming back at about the same time, and has already shown flashes in the System.

So I realized that maybe the best way to use this mlb.com list to judge comparative system depth was to see how many players had 50 rankings or higher, so I just spent a few minutes doing that:

    19-NYY
    19-SD
    17-CWS
    17-MIL
    17-OAK
    16-PHI
    15-CIN
    15-TOR
    14-ATL
    14-LAD
    14-MIN
    14-TB
    13-HOU
    13-CLE
    12-STL
    11-PIT
    11-TEX
    9-NYM
    9-BOS
    9-CHC
    9-SEA
    9-WAS
    8-BAL
    8-MIA
    8-COL
    7-SF
    6-LAA
    6-DET
    5-ARI
    3-KC

Daniel Flores, even though he's a young stud is 6th on the red sox list, where as Everson Pereira the 4th best IFA isn't even mentioned. The of depth in our system is crazy.

Gilliam hit his 11 HR in that game. He has 61 RBIs, which is a nice total at this point in that league.

DeCarr pitched again. So far, 2 innings, 2 Ks, 1BB, 1 HBP, 1 balk. That's a vast improvement over some of his recent appearances.

Wagner is a guy I can't figure out. He seems to have some nice hitting skills, but can he be consistent, and can he find a position to play at.

It was also his 6th HR at home, and Charleston has one of the worst park factors for HR in the entire sport.

Gilliam has the potential to be a huge prospect bat if he keeps this up as he moves to different home ballparks. It's not like he's going to a hitters paradise in Tampa, but it's still an improvement over The Joe.

I'm hopeful (though dubious) that we get to see him and Florial move up levels together.

I think Florial moves 1 level a year until he 'gets it". I hope that's by 2019, the latest. At that time, I think he flies through the remaining levels.

Gilliam since 5/3 is slashing .293/.350/.510

Got off to a very slow start the first month but has been really good since then.

Gilliam could be the rare case of the Yankees hitting on an overslot guy.

They seem to do poorly on those historically.

I wonder what the industry average is on "overslots", though I suspect you'd have to refine the definition to hone in on the kind of results you're looking for.

Are you talking about just post-10th, or anyone with a bonus that outstrips their draft position?

Because guys like Slade, Brackman, Aune, Maher, Cote, Mason Williams, etc all leave a bad taste, but they've also done well with guys like DRob, Phelps, Bird, Cave, Betances, Fowler, etc.

Hell, Judge was techincally overslot and I remember people being up in arms about that on this site.
