Peterson should be around slot. If there is any savings, it should be minimal. Carlson is for sure going over slot. Maybe not as much as Sauer, but over slot never-the-less.

carlson was a late riser but didn't rise as much as he was projected. maybe that was a signability problem

Thanks for the revelation.. Pitcher velo varies.....

Saying a guy was struggling to top 90 only to have him hitting 96 a few weeks later is a drastic difference than a starter going from, say, 90-92 and then back up to 92-94. This wasn't a couple ticks we're talking about. That was more than a full grade drop in FB velocity being discussed. So, I was skeptical with that drop to begin with and would suspect his current velo backs that up as inaccurate or an injury/fatigue issue.

Welcome to baseball. Velo's can vary week to week depending on many variables. I forgot who posted the slow velo post but i have no reason to doubt his observations.

Needs strength but will be a good prospect. The class of 14 will for the most part be turning 19-20 this season. Still to soon to judge.

So Littell's promotion for this AA start was temporary...for now he's back down in Tampa, but some potentially awesome velo reports on Twitter for him:

    j‏ @j_nyy 10h10 hours ago
Not sure if the gun is hot but Hartford gun has Littell hitting 93 mph

    j‏ @j_nyy 10h10 hours ago
Saw a couple 94 mph. Either it's a hot gun, Littell is pumped up, or it's for real

    j‏ @j_nyy 9h9 hours ago
Littell hit 95 mph in the 7th inning, has really sharp breaking stuff. Got him for James Pazos this winter. Cash has done it again.

"This organization is awesome. There's so much talent here at every level," Littell said. "I know how it works. They were straightforward with me. So I came up here and just tried to help Trenton win a game. That's all I could really do, anywhere I go."
Littell said it was an "awesome" experience to work with Wilkin Castillo and credited the 33-year-old veteran catcher with thinking up some creative pitch sequencing and guiding him through an unfamiliar lineup.

"I might have shook him off three times all night," the 6-foot-3, 190-pound hurler said. "When he called a pitch, I threw it and it worked out. He kind of explained to me why he felt like that and his thought process on it. And there was definitely some stuff I could use in the future."
"We just mixed well, I think I had strikeouts on almost every pitch," the 2013 11th-round pick said. "I think just a combination of mixing all my pitches and attacking every hitter differently in each at-bat really was the difference."
