Arizona vs Oregon could go either way.

It looks like the top 3 teams, plus USC will make the dance.

I'm surprised that Utah won't be playing, though. 11-7 record in Pac 12 play isn't good enough anymore. On the surface, it appears that USC signature win against UCLA earned themselves their bid. Utah doesn't seem to have any big wins.

Great game. Oregon's chances in the tournament are slim without Boucher. Not sure if that's going to knock Gonzaga out of 1 seed in the West.

Gonzaga will be #1 in the west as they beat Arizona earlier in the season. But Arizona gets to stay out west as the #2 seed. That's a plus because Gonzaga will be the weakest of the #1's- at least they would have played the weakest conference schedule.

Tough break for Oregon. I don't know if Zona wins with a healthy Oregon team.

You are correct melon. Cal had a good record, but their three losses to Oregon especially the collapse in Berkeley cost them a shot in making the field of 68.

Win one of those meetings especially the one in Haas Pavilion, they would've been in the NCAA Tournament instead of the postseason NIT.

I think the selection committee got it right with the 68 especially those first four in. Syracuse had good wins in the RPI Top 50, but their record in games outside the Carrier Dome cost them.

    Me either.

Cal cost themselves by not beating Oregon especially in Berkeley on February 22 which was part of their nasty slide into the Pac-12 tournament.
Syracuse had a poor record away from the Carrier Dome.
Illinois State didn't have any quality wins outside of Wichita State and had a soft out of conference schedule.
    Iowa didn't have enough wins.

For some of the teams that were on the bubble, they have to make a very deep run in their conference tournament like making the final and probably have to win it to get in the field of 68.

Duke would be a tad upset of being a #2.

Happy for my Rhody Rams to win their first A-10 title since 1999 with Lamar Odom. They're one of the best defensive teams in the country so hopefully they have another win in them. Don't know anything about Creighton.

Seth Greenberg picked them to reach the Sweet 16.

Man, that team coached by Jim Harrick, was so so close to the Final Four.

As someone who follows the Big 10 closely, I sure saw some screwballs in full effect. How in the world Minnesota is a 5 seed, yet finished behind Wisconsin in the conference, who also went to the Big10 tournament championship, yet Wisconsin is only an 8 seed. And yet still, an 8 seed for Northwestern, whom Wisconsin beat twice this year, and then giving Maryland a 6 seed who finished tied with Wisconsin in the conference and did not go as far in the conference tournament.
To me, the NCAA is not consistent as one year how well a team finished in a conference is key while another, how well a team does in their conference tournament matters more.

Re: 2016-17 MCollege Basketball Season Thread

Poor Kentucky. They have to face the winner of Wichita State/Dayton to reach the Sweet 16. Either team will be a tough matchup.

    And then UCLA is looming.

Duke is a No. 2 seed, but the Blue Devils are the favorites to win the NCAA tournament at multiple Las Vegas sportsbooks.

The Wynn and Westgate SuperBook each installed Duke as the favorite at 5-1 Sunday afternoon after the bracket was released. William Hill's Nevada sportsbook, however, lists North Carolina as the favorite at 13-2, and MGM's sportsbook has Kansas as the favorite at 6-1.

Poor Ky my ace. They get every single call, ever invented in the history of basketball, and they always whine as soon as their bracket has good teams in it. coach cal, you can't play the NW Valley Sisters of the Homely and Poor every week.
