Facing The Yankees In Your MLB Debut and Getting A Win or Save To End A World Series
On June 2, 2015, Mike Montgomery made has MLB debut against the Yankees. Montgomery allowed 1 earned run in 6 innings, and he was 1 out away from a win when Stephen Drew doubled to tie the game against Fernando Rodney. On November 2, 2016, Mike Montgomery got the save in the last game of the World Series. That was 519 days after his MLB debut. Can anybody find a pitcher who made his MLB debut against the Yankees and got a win or save in the last game of a World Series within 519 days of his debut?

Re: Facing The Yankees In Your MLB Debut and Getting A Win or Save To End A World Ser
i misread your question originally, was researching saves only and did not find a confirmed case going back to 1932. If we remove the 519 days caveat, it's possible that Herb Pennock, saver of game 4 of the Yankees' sweep of the Cubs in 1932, debuted against the Yankees in 1912 but B-Ref doesn't have game logs for that year so it's a 1-in-7 shot.
Again removing the (very arbitrary IMO) 519 day caveat, we don't have to go back far for a win, Luke Hochevar who debuted against the Yankees in 2007 beat the Mets in Game 5 of the 2015 WS.
