Miller didn't even have near his best stuff tonight.

Rajai Davis may be the luckiest man in Ohio tonight...

So this means unless the Cubs win 4 in a row, Wrigley will still not host a Cubs world series clinching game.

The Chicago Cubs went 1/11 with RISP with no runs scored.
The Cleveland Indians went 2/9 with RISP with five runs scored.

Combine that with the Corey Kluber, Andrew Miller and Cody Allen combining for a seven-hitter and the Tribe grab Game 1, 6-0.

I don't mind Tito Francona at all. Maddon reminds me too much of Scioscia. Always with the incredulous faces when a strike call goes against him... He's annoying to me.

Rooting for the Tribe. I don't think they get enough credit and additionally, I think they have better pitching. We'll see.

Both of these managers have a knack for connecting with and getting the most out of the younger players. The more I listen to Francona during interviews, the more I like him. Same with Maddon. I couldn't stand either one of them when they were in the Eastern division, but that was more because of the uniform. I wouldn't mind having one of them as the Yankees manager.
If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

Did anyone, in their most extreme predictions, believe that Heyward could have dropped this far to being benched in the WS? 70 OPS+ in regular season.

I don't recall Lester having the yips with Boston. Did he just get them after signing with the Cubs?

And then there was the Crawford contract.

Theo doesn't have the best timing when it comes to very pricey FA's, from what I've seen.

Heyward is a bad deal all around, but I think if they could do it over again Sox would rather have had Lester than Price.

    It's very exciting!
2016 - At least we won as many postseason games as the Red Sox

And they thought Pedro Baez was the problem. I really don't understand why these games are going so long. I tend to watch games on a slight DVR delay and use my 10 second skip function to catch up so I know which pitchers are quick and which one aren't. Lester is a bit slow but Arrieta and Montgomery were ready within 12-15 seconds, even with a batter on base. There are no Pedro Baez's on either team so I can't figure out what is slowing the games down so much. The Indians/ Jays games cruised along with one finishing in under 3 hours.

It was just an ugly game, IMO. Both SPs were having difficulty locating their pitches early, and they both slowed down with men on, especially Bauer. I was hype as ................ for Game 1, but I honestly couldn't make it through Game 2.

Playing baseball this late in the year in cities like Chicago and Cleveland make for bad baseball. Pitchers can't feel the ball properly, cold air kills fly balls, etc. I know there's no fixing it or going back, but it's just not good baseball.

Excellent point. Not much better here in New England where it was snowing and sleeting yesterday.

agreed. I mean I'm all about baseball still being played while I sit home all comfy but cold weather sucks and it can show.

The low tonight in zip code 60613 (Wrigley) is 62.

The high tomorrow at Wrigley is 71 during the day and 53 tomorrow night.
    Can't really ask for more.

So what's the alternative? You want every cold weather team to build a retractable roof or end the season on 9/15?

Can't we just enjoy things for what they are?

You could drive a Mack truck through the strike sone. It will be interesting to see if Cleveland gets the same courtesy.
