    RANDOM FACT:

It has been 39,458 days since the Cubs won the World Series. (10/14/1908)

    How long ago was that?

Thomas Jefferson was inaugurated President of the United States on March 4, 1801.

    From 3/4/1801 to 10/14/1908 is 39,305 days.

So historically, the Cubs last won the World Series closer to Jefferson being inaugurated President of the United States than to today (by over 100 days)!

Dexter Fowler will be the first player of color to make a plate appearance in a World Series game for the Cubs.

If the Cubs manage to sweep the Indians, they will record 108 outs to win their first World Series in 108 years.

Only if none of the games go extra innings.

I'm just happy that neither the Red Sox nor the Giants are in the world series this year.

I don't really care who wins. I'm just rooting for some good baseball to watch.

2-0 Indians lead and the Tribe still have the bases loaded with two outs.

Jose Ramirez with a RBI infield single and then Brandon Guyer was plunked with RBI hit by pitch.

I'm l rooting Indians though, only so ESPN's year of "OMG HAVE YOU NOTICED ITS THE CUBS YEAR?!!!1!" can end in tears and disarray. That's really it. Don't mind the team, but holy ****, there are 30 baseball teams out there. I understand the storyline, I really do, but this whole year has felt like when Boston articles or announcers are so biased that they detract from my interest in baseball as a whole.

I can't be the only one feeling like a historical pessimist rooting against the Cubs, but sweet lord, I've long since had my fill of this team's coverage.
I'll also be happy with either the Cubs or Indians breaking their MLB title drought in the 2016 World Series.

Ben Zobrist had the Chicago Cubs first hit in World Series play since Don Johnson in Game 7 of the 1945 World Series.

Both of those hits in-between were doubles.

Kluber is on. First in MLB history to strikeout 8 in the first 3 innings. It was so long ago, it pre-dates the Cubs last World Series win.

Javier Baez had a couple of incredible, but questionable defensive gems in this postseason, tonight and in Game 3 of the NLDS against the SF Giants.

So, the Cubs had two doubles in the 2nd and 4th innings, but failed to score.

Did John Smoltz just babble that guys like David Ross are a dying breed in the game of baseball today? Is he pining for the days of when every team had a Greg Maddux who required a Charlie O'Brien to caddy his game for those two seasons, or that baseball is just full of a bunch of pricks now, or that you know, the game's evolved beyond the need for a backup catcher?

He's not as dumb as Ripken, but he can rival him once in a while.

Buck and Smoltz getting cozy in the FOX booth. Their shoulders are touching; for a moment I thought they were sharing a seat.

This game has been a tease for Cubs fans. You could make a case that they SHOULD be winning this game

What a game by Roberto Perez with two home runs and four RBIs and catching a great game.
