NLDS - Los Angeles vs. Washington

Game 1 - Kershaw vs. Scherzer. I have been looking forward to this matchup.

Dodgers up 1-0 in the Bottom of the 2nd. Washington runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.

Can Kershaw overcome his postseason disappointments?

Justin Turner makes it 4-0 with a 2R-HR in the top of the 3rd.

4-2 bottom of the 3rd, Washington still batting. Kershaw not looking very sharp or comfortable.

Glad to see Stephen Drew hasn't changed. Brought him in as a pinch hitter in bottom of the 8th, runner on 2nd and no outs, down by one. And the clutch drew pops out on the first pitch.

I am sure he swung the bat well though. Probably just needs more time.

After all, he missed Spring Training two years ago. Or was it three?

Going into this series I felt like Scherzer had to carry the Nats on his back if they were going to win this series because their offense is pretty "meh" with Ramos out and Harper having a down year. The exact opposite happened in game 1. The Nats scored 3 off of Kershaw at home. That's a game you need to win. Really bad loss for the Nationals and a disappointing performance from Scherzer.

That may be the worst performance I've ever seen from Kershaw. The Nats are going to be kicking themselves for letting him off the hook.

Great bullpen performance by the Dodgers in Game 1.

4 scoreless innings, one hit and two walks allowed.

Poor RISP hitting by the Nationals going 1 for 10.

Dodgers down 4-2 in 6th inning of game 2

They had the bases loaded 3 times in the first 5 innings. The performance is Yankee-like.

I say it's a combination of Yankee and Texas Rangers-like.

I think the series will go to five with the L.A. Dodgers winning it in D.C. The Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals have a history of losing postseason do-or-die games at home.

Rick Monday broke their hearts in the 1981 NLCS and Drew Storen blew his save against the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2012 ALDS.

I'm laughing at how Costas is timing Baez between pitches. 30 seconds on the average.

    It's brutal to watch.

Yeah I'm listening to the Dodgers radio broadcast. Apparently, when he first came up they told him that now that he's in the major leagues he needs to slow the game down.

    He took that literally.

True story. Told by Rick Monday on the Dodgers radio network. Since they called him in for a meeting and discovered where the "slow the game down" was lost in translation he's been working on speeding up his delivery.

So far in 10.1 innings, no runs allowed by the Washington Nationals bullpen.

Make it 11.1 scoreless innings from the Nats bullpen in their NLDS series with the Dodgers with Shawn Kelly pitching 1.2 IP hitless and scoreless innings of relief.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers have Kenley Jansen.

Why isn't he getting fined? Why aren't the umpires ordering him to throw the pitch or they will issue a balk? This game is going on 4 hours and the Yankees and Sox aren't even involved!

Grabbed only one out and allowed four runs.

I bet Dusty Baker and the Nationals are kicking themselves for losing Game 1.
