Re: NLDS - Los Angeles vs. Washington

Washington Nationals take Game 3 over the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-3.

    WSH leads Best-of-5 series 2-1.

The Nats can punch their ticket to their first NLCS appearance since 1981 if they win Game 4 tomorrow from Dodger Stadium.

I don't think MLB is quite there yet.

    Here's an interesting tidbit.

Game 4 of the Washington Nationals-Los Angeles Dodgers series will take place on October 11, the same date the Nationals franchise clinched a place in the NLCS back in 1981 when they were the Montreal Expos. The Expos outlasted the defending MLB World Champion Philadelphia Phillies in Game 5 of that series, 3-0.

Hopefully, Los Angeles will lose. I'm hoping to see no more ex-NY teams in this.

Some pitchers have been fined. Papelbon uses to get fined all the time. Manford wants to speed up the game. Start by getting the umps inline with the 10 second rule.

With the Giants win, Game 4 between the Dodgers and Nationals at 5 PM ET/2 PM PT on Tuesday.

A do or die game for both teams in Chavez Ravine.

There's pressure on the Dodgers to win Game 4, but this is a do or die game for the Nationals. If they lose Game 4, chances are they'll lose Game 5 in D.C. on Wednesday.

After a shaky start, Kerahaw seems to be settling in. Dodgers still blew a chance to bust the game wide open with another bases loaded opportunity that produced 1 run on a hit batter.

4-2 in the middle of the 5th.

It's quite annoying having to actively search out what obscure network/channel is covering the game

Kershaw looked really good against Harper , even though he walked. That was a nice face off.

I thought he struck him out.

I'm glad Baez is out after hitting a batter.

I cannot bear to watch him pitch.

    5-5!

I don't have a horse in this race. But the Dodger pitchers have really been getting squeezed this inning.

Anyone know how many pitches Kershaw had? Did he have to be removed at that point?

Also, that was a horrible strike 3 call on Puig's checked swing. I'm surprised he didn't lose it.

110 and he let 2 batters onto 1st and 2nd.

Maybe that AAA demotion has changed Puig's attitude? Only Pedroia can get away with arguing balls and strikes during the playoffs.

Utley gives the Dodgers the lead, 6-5.

Thanks. Kershaw really should have been out of the inning, if he wasn't squeezed against Harper.

I wouldn't mind seeing the nationals win as I have family in DC, but I'm sorry. Any team that pinch hits Stephen Drew in clutch playoff situations deserves to go home.

Re: NLDS - Los Angeles vs. Washington

This is deja vu for the Washington Nationals franchise. A winner-take-all Game 5 at Nationals Park and for this franchise when you also bring the old Montreal Expos into the equation, it's not good.

The Expos/Nationals will play their fourth winner-take-all postseason decider and they are 1-2 in their previous three including an 0-2 mark at home.

And it's not a good omen for Dusty Baker. In his managerial career, Baker has a 3-7 postseason record when facing elimination including a 2-4 record in winner-take-all postseason games. Both of those series clinching wins were against the Atlanta Braves.

It seems every manager has at least one pet. Baez must curl up on the floor in Roberts' bedroom at night.
