That's quite the international haul, 5 of the top 20, 6 of the top 28. Hopefully these guys turn out better than the 2014 batch has so far (I know Florial was part of that, but the big bonus guys have been pretty underwhelming so far).

Here's the list of where the top 50 guys have signed, fun to look at:

Lets hear the $ numbers these guys got first. Who else has a lot of money to spend, the Twins and Rangers?

Pipeline had Salinas and Cabello ranked 6th and 8th in this IFA class. Pereira was 4th, so the Yankees now have 3 of their Top-10.

Great news. Hopefully, we're still in on Martinez. Would love to grab him as Frazier's replacement if he's dealt.

Who is after McKinney and Cave on the OF depth chart currently? Mason Williams is gone. Mark Payton maybe?

Oh right. not sure how long he will stick on the 40 man, though, so we'll see if someone claims him or he can go to AAA.

Gonna be interesting to see who Martinez signs with and for how much. Hope it's the Yankees but considering those were 2 top 20 prospects we just signed, not sure how much is left.

We had 3.5 million left. I'm going to guess that Salinas and Cabello cost us 1.5 for the two. 2 million would be quite a bit left. Still more than what most teams have left/can offer. Martinez would be a huge addition to the farm. Hoping for the best.

At around 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, Martinez is a lefty with a promising combination of power and speed. Last season in Serie Nacional, Cuba's top league, Martinez hit .333/.469/.498 in 264 plate appearances with 52 walks, 30 strikeouts, six home runs and 24 stolen bases in 29 attempts. Based on his present ability, he's probably ready to go to a high Class A or Double-A team.

Really nice looking swing. Reminds me of A-Rod a bit

    Re: 2017 International Free Agency

BA's ranking of the current IFAs and their signing bonus
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Wander Franco - $3.8M (Rays)
    2. Daniel Flores - $3.1M (Bosox)
    3. Ronny Mauricio - $2.1M (Mets)
    4. Everson Pereira - $1.5M (Yanks)
    5. George Valera - $1.3M (Indians)
    6. Julio Rodriguez - $1.7M (M's)
    7. Danny Diaz - $1.6M (Bosox)
    8. Carlos Rodriguez - $1.4M (Brewers)
    9. Kristian Robinson - $2.5M (Dbacks)
    10. Raimfer Salinas (Yanks)
    11. Ronny Rojas - $1M (Yanks)
    12. Luis Garcia - $2.5M (Phillies)
    13. Jelfry Marte - $3M (Twins - voided)
    14. Eric Pardinho - $1.4M (Jays)
    15. Antonio Cabello (Yanks)
    16. Adrian Hernandez - $1.5M (Mets)
    17. Aaron Bracho - $1.5M (Indians)

Based on the current market and likely competition for Cabello and Salinas, I'd be very surprised if they had enough leftover from the remaining pool to entice Julio Pablo Martinez.

The Yankees have deals with Raimfer Salinas and Antonio Cabello, two top international prospects. That gives the Yankees five of Baseball America's top 20 prospects for 2017: http://bit.ly/2Bq1R8T
Good to hear. We need these guys to help replenish the farm.

Where in the top 30 would these guys rank? I like the reports on all these guys.

MLB.com's list has Everson Pereira (an earlier signing by NY from this same class, #4 on that list) at #27, so presumably these two will also be right around there, or just off the top 30.

If one of the prospects from this year's class is a prospect as highly regarded as Florial and the rest do nothing, it would be a good class as far as I'm concerned. I also wouldn't give up on the rest of 2014 just yet. Dermis Garcia's power has been real, and these guys are still 19-20. 12 months ago, Florial had done as much as the rest of that year's IFA class. Maybe this time next year, another will have emerged (things tend to click in that 19-22 age range).

    Re: 2017 International Free Agency

Freicer Perez was actually part of the 2014 IFA class. He wasn't part of the massive spending spree though. He got a 10K bonus. But his profile right now screams diamond in the rough.

It's hard to project these IFA kids when most of them sign at 16 and 17. It's why you cast a wide net. Once in while a big bonus baby like Sanchez pans out and sometimes get lucky with a Severino.

This is why save for an Ohtani type, I'm totally ok with 30 prospects or whatever as opposed to the top 5 guys. I feel like quantity is much more important here.
