Players Whose Only Career Win Was In Their MLB Debut

On September 29, 1993, Kenny Greer made his MLB debut with the Mets and got the win. It was his only career win, only game in 1993, and only career game with the Mets. Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) adds or subtracts a constant to make the average FIP equal the average ERA. Greer did not allow any baserunners in his inning in 1993, and http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...reerke01.shtml has him with an FIP of -1.01. Obviously it is impossible to have an ERA of -1.01.

Re: Players Whose Only Career Win Was In Their MLB Debut

Baseball-reference has a list of 530 pitchers who had 1 MLB game. Those pitchers have a record of 28-136 (.171). That includes starters and relievers. The most recent pitcher to have a win in his only MLB game is Milwaukee's Chris Saenz, who did it on April 24, 2004. 17 pitchers have allowed at least 1 earned run in 0 innings.
