    Mlb Draft 2017

    http://www.fueledbysports.com/2017-mlb-mock-draft/

12 New York Yankees Hagen Danner RHP 6'1" 185 Huntington Beach HS (CA)
Danner is a two way player, with his other position being catcher, but most scouts think he'll end up a pitcher at the next level. He has solid fastball that he commands well and an above average curveball that could have plus-potential. Danner is also an excellent hitter and an outstanding athlete, which makes him a candidate to go 1-1 in 2017.

I hope Yankees draft Mark Vientos when they pick

    Mark Vientos Scouting Report

    http://www.fueledbysports.com/mark-v...outing-report/

    Mark Vientos’ Info

    Bats: Right
    Throws: Right
    Birthday:
    School:
    Position: SS
    College Commitment: Miami (FL)

    Scouting Report

Vientos is probably the best prospect in the 2017 MLB Draft, with his five-tool potential and a projectable frame. He has a nice looking swing and has potential to hit for both average and power. He also has a plus potential glove with an already plus arm.

    Strengths

    •Good frame
•Versatile could stick at SS, with 3B also an option
•Young will be 17 at the time of the draft
    •Above average power potential
    •Excellent arm strength
    •Above average contact potential
    •Line drive approach
    •Quick twitch athletic
•Strong for a guy his size
•Best available player in the 2017 draft, might have been the best player in the 2016 draft
•Won’t steal a ton of bases, but still has decent speed

    Weaknesses
•Needs to add bulk to his frame
•Needs to improve his approach at the plate
    •Needs to improve pitch recognition

    Mark Vientos’ Scouting Grades

    Tool

    Grade/Projection

    Contact 50/60
    Power 55/65
    Run 50/55
    Arm 60/65
    Field 60/65
    Overall 55/65

    Mark Vientos’ Draft Projection

    Top-3 Pick

There's no chance he's available by the time the Yankees draft. In order for that to have happened, the Yankees would've needed a vision to rebuild starting last month in order to tank this season's record enough to qualify for where this kid will likely be selected.

You're probably right, but with the baseball draft, you never know. Teams try to be clever and draft lower rated players with the hopes of signing multiple highly-rated players. We don't have to go further than this past draft to see example of this with Groome and Rutherford.

This draft should set up well based on the Yankees recent draft history.

Should be strong with college pitching and California prep players.

Faedo would be nice. It looks like a deep college arm draft but as we know it's long ways away.

We could be top 10 in the next two years as we wait for these bad contracts to expire and young players to hit their stride. I am excited for it!

In addition, the Yankees penalty in the International Market is lifted this year? So if we finish bottom 10, get a bigger International allocation, we could get some of the better prospects.

The problem is that the CBA expires before the next IFA period, and there has long been talk of the INTL draft.

Well if we end up with a top 10 draft pick in the USA draft, I'm sure we'd receive equal pick in the International draft. I read somewhere that, the Yankees are hitting the International players hard, scouting for talent. We'll likely be in on alot of the top players if the system remains the same.

But the one thing in the next CBA that's most likely to change is the way teams procure IFA talent, particularly young amateur players.

If not a complete separate international draft, then something far more restrictive that deters clubs from gaming the system. Right now it's kind of a joke the way teams are blasting through their bonus pools.

Honestly, they have been talking about an International draft for so long I wonder just HOW they plan to implement it. The last spending restrictions were a band aid but fairly simple to implement. An iinternational draft would encompass so many more parameters. It will take a while to see how truly effective it is.
When I was a kid, my father told me, "Never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it."

That's a fair argument. A complete overhaul like an international draft would encompass far more parameters. It could potentially be ripe for unintended loopholes. I'm confident though that the current system won't remain the same. Teams are making a mockery of it.

Michael Lananna from BA has a whole bunch of vines in his timeline from the Area Code games.

Nick Storz is a two way player from NY who will go in the top half of round one. His curve ball is silly.

Officially eliminated from the playoffs, and looks like the highest we can draft is 15 and the lowest is 22.

Ugh, I'm tired of switching from wanting the team to win/lose/win. I'm just going to keep rooting for them to win. Let's go yanks!

I believe we're picking 16th We're tied with the Astros, but I think the tiebreaker for draft position is last year's record.

Let's hope we move up a spot or two due to fa signings.
