    Piecing the 2017 schedule

Because its never too early to plan ahead...

According to this article the interleague rotation for 2017 has the AL East vs NL Central which the cardinals are slated to visit yankee stadium

According to the rough schedule which can be adjusted the Cardinals are set to host the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays while traveling to Baltimore for a second consecutive turn and visiting the new Yankee Stadium for the first time.
The Cardinals have not played in the Bronx since 2003, at the old ballpark.

    Cardinals at Yankees, YAY!

My Dad took me to Oct 10 1964 WS game at the old YS, what a memory. Thanks Dad!

per Wikipedia - In the bottom of the ninth, Mickey Mantle reached deep for one of the last ounces of Yankees magic. With the game tied at one, Mantle, the leadoff hitter, told on-deck hitter Elston Howard to go back to the clubhouse because he was going to hit a home run.[13] Mantle swung at the first pitch from Cardinal pitcher Barney Schultz, a knuckleball that failed to move,[11] and hit it into the right field stands to win the game for the Yankees. Schultz had been a mainstay of the Cardinals' stretch run and Yankee scouting reports had advised his knuckler was most vulnerable on the first pitch when he threw harder than usual to try for a strike. Mantle's home run (his sixteenth Series home run) broke Babe Ruth's record for most home runs hit in World Series play.

Its about time the Cardinals come to the Bronx....them and the Padres are the only two teams I have not seen at the stadium new or old
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Clemens won his 300th game in that series vs St. Louis in 2003.

Last time the NL central was played it was the Cubs, Cards and Pirates.
So imagine this time it will be the Brewers, Reds and Cards as just mentioned. Easier route next year.

Not sure what year you are going off of but last time AL East played NL Central was in 2014.

That year the yanks were @Brewers, @Cubs, @Cardinals and Pirates and Reds visited the stadium.

I'd imagine if they are flip flopping Home/Away for 2017 so the yanks would be visiting PIT and CIN and then MIL, CHC and STL (which is confirmed based on the article above) are visiting the stadium

The 1964 WS - I cried after this series loss. To this day, I want the Yankees to face the Cardinals in the WS and sweep them so I can get my revenge.

    LOOKING AHEAD
The Yankees open the 2017 season at Tampa Bay on April 3, according to the team's draft preliminary schedule, then go to Baltimore before their home opener, slated to be against the Rays on April 10. Some openers likely will be moved to April 2 for ESPN telecasts.

    Re: Piecing the 2017 schedule

Not a regular season thing but....

Aren't the Yankees usually a coveted team to come play exhibitions before a new Stadium opens up? (Didn't they do this for HOU, MIA, maybe others?)

Wonder if Atlanta will try to grab the Yankees for this to load test their new ballpark with 1 or 2 exhibitions before they bounce right back to Tampa to start the regular season. The Braves and Yankees could load test the new Stadium and then the Braves have until 4/13 to work out any glitches before the first regular season game there since the Braves play on the road until then. If it does happen it could be a chance for Yankee fans in the Atlanta area to get a sneak peek at the 2017 Yankees in April...

Teams opening new ballparks often host exhibition games at the new stadiums before opening day, and it is possible the Braves could schedule some at SunTrust ahead of the regular season.

Spring training, not regular season, but an opportunity to see a new ballpark if you know any Braves season ticket holders.

MLB schedule due to be released today.

I am hoping that 20-game Plan #1 gets a better luck of the draw that we got this season. We got only 5 Saturday/Sunday games, no Mets, and lots of Tampa Bay in 2016.

Here's hoping for a mid summer weekend series at PNC Park and the home Cardinals series on a weekend.

Correct - and still none 6:00 am this morning. Every site I looked at said Sept. 13 was the release date, so, sorry if I misled you guys. I am trying to plan a couple of trips for next summer so I'm waiting for the baseball schedule that I can plug into that.

    Re: Piecing the 2017 schedule

Hopefully today is indeed the day. Also, here's to a different mix of weekend home opponents and a year or two off from Seattle, Cleveland, Detroit, and Minnesota on a weekend at home. Also hopefully that early April weekend series at Baltimore gets moved!
