Kreider's still out - frustrating to see the guy missing time when he's been playing so well, hopefully it doesn't become a lingering issue. Buchnevich is back, so we've got that going for us, which is nice.

He's not fully developed yet but it's mostly a cap issue for other teams (800k)

There might be a market for him come trade deadline, otherwise he walks for nothing at the end of the year as a UFA

The on ice play to start this season is a complete 180 from last year.

AV still doing stupid things though.

Speed kills... not seen a Rangers team this fast and deep at forward in 20+ years, maybe longer..
It's not simply about talent, we do things so fast that the opposition does not even have time to react... By the time they realize what we are doing or where we are trying to go with the puck, the red light behind the net is on..
I used to think I was crazy... Now I am sure of it..

Joe did a good job of explaining that on the Hayes goal. Unreal how fast their transition is.

Also, who needs 1st round picks when we can just sign these guys out of college? Vesey is gelling perfectly with this team right now, Hayes is off to a good start, Kreider is off to his best start of his career (another multi-point game).

They're averaging 4 goals a game and through 10 games have the most goals scored in the league. Last year their hot start was due mostly to Hank having one of the best 20 game stretches in league history. This year it's all about the speedy forwards and 3 lines going strong.

so right now we don't really need Trouba. Winnipeg can play hard ball all they want and lose him to the KHL for nothing, the Rangers will be able to make a trade for someone else by the deadline for a playoff run

This is pretty textbook perfect power play goal. Movement, everyone touching the puck, and quality shot to end it.

Shredded that box, who is this team?

I'd be reallllly careful about the whole Trouba situation. While this team is playing well right now the D won't hold up the whole year and the last thing we want is to play hardball only to watch Trouba end up with someone else inside the division.

Can't over pay for him either, I'd give even odds of three possibilities - (1) traded to Boston, (2) signed on a 1-year deal, (3) locked out December 1

I haven't really watched any hockey yet this season, but the Rangers seem to be kicking some serious ass. Every time I check the score they seem to have five goals.

Defense still a bit of a concern. I wouldn't be comfortable with it in the playoffs when scoring goes down.
Hope they can trade for Trouba.

Yeah it's still a concern, but it's also a long season. Look who they trotted out on the blue line 2 years ago this week.

I love banking these early points, especially with all these early season home games.

I'm sure it won't last all season but damn it's fun to watch them net 5 a night right now.

more of that coming up, Rangers get one day rest but Vancouver comes in on day 2 of a back to back in game 5 of their 6 game road trip. Expect AV to want to lay into them and run up the score

gotta say though that there's way too many games in the NHL regular season, drives the players into the ground

    Good luck to him.

NYR trade Dylan McIlrath to FLA for Steve Kampfer and conditional 7th round pick.

It's actually pretty great news, I thought his season was over and worse. He either ripped up his entore knee or some nasty protruding bone injury. At least this will heal after a couple months withplenty of time to get ready for the playoffs. Rangers have enough depth to get them through

Nice comeback last night. Last year they'd never come back from 2-0 deficit in the 1st period on the road.

The AV effect is in full tilt now.

The worse his players play, the more it seems they play.

#NYR Michael Grabner is the first NHL player who has a +20 rating or better in the first 22 games of a season...
