Snow gave Capuano a vote of confidence. Unless the new owners wake up and replace both these guys Islanders are heading for lottery pick status

Islanders now tied for the least points in the league. But no need for Snow to worry. It's all good.

Well it took a 14 round shootout but Islanders finally won a road game.

I actually stayed up for it. The game didn't end until 1:15 making it the longest regular season game I have watched on TV. Had I recorded the game and went to be the DVR would had ran out early.

Hope for the best, expect the worst.

And the winning streak lasted one game. I always add an extra hour when I DVR an Islanders game.

Normally you don't need anymore than 3 hours. Regulations ends at the 2:40 mark and then 2:50 the shootout begins. I have the NHL app now so it never runs out of time.

This image is what I think about Halak.

Regulation ends around the 2:40 mark but than you have the 5 minute OT before the shootout. Anyway I don't blame Halak for last night. You will not win a lot of games scoring only one goal.

Maybe Halak is effected by less practice time due to Snow insanely keeping 3 goalies on the team.

After blowing 3-0 third period lead Islanders score fastest two goals in franchise history (3.1 seconds) and win just their second game this season against an Eastern Conference team.

First shutout of the season. 3 game winning streak. Seidenberg activated. I'm not saying the season is turned around but it is nice to see some progress.

No, Always root for wins. Just hate that Snow and Capuano will remain because of it. Was hoping for real change once the new ownership took over.

    Well this is a start.

    https://www.sny.tv/islanders/news/re...ions/210149586

slanders owners Jon Ledecky and Scott Malkin have been on a search since the summer to bring in a new executive to run the team's hockey operations, reports Newsday's Arthur Staple.

According to Staple, the new owners have worked to bring in a "big name" that would either work alongside GM Garth Snow or could make changes to the front office.

$3.5 million per year cap hit. What you see if what you get with the Islanders next season. All forwards are under contract. Only Greiss and Seidenberg (and Berube) will be UFA. De Haan is restricted but I assume he will be back or taken in the expansion draft.

If none of the unprotected players are taken by Vegas the Islanders will be against the cap next season with no room to sign any free agents however Grabovski's cap hit can go away on LTIR. I expect Kumelin will be bought out so only 1/3 of his salary will be on next years cap. You could be looking at a goaltending tandem of Halak and Gibson/McAdams.

Isles sent the season ticket holders the price list for next season. Except for the cheapest tickets that will remain at $20 all the other prices were lowered dramatically. My $35 FS seat will be $22 next season.

I wonder how far the Islanders have to drop before the new owners realize it's time to replace Snow & Cappy.

JF Berube starting tonight! I'm heading to Providence to see the Soundtigers play. They have a very good AHL team. Pulock, Pelech, Toews, Mayfield, Dal Colle, Ho Sang plus a few steady AHL vets and some solid goaltending from Penn State alum Eamon McAdams.
