Maybe they could get the 2011 Islanders coach to run the team.

He was amazing on the Tampa team that won, but yeah, the 2nd on in Chicago was luck.

I dunno. Price is good enough to carry them there on his own. They won't win a round but I can see them hanging in there close enough and making a move at the deadline to get them at least into the playoffs.

But since I hate them, I'd rather them be like 5th in the division - not good enough to win, not bad enough to rebuild.

I agree with the Flyers being a sleeper team for the playoffs (big surprise, I know).

I am legitimately excited to see what Provorov and Konecny (thank you, Don Sweeney) can do, now that they both made the team out of camp.

I'm also curious to see if Shayne Gostisbehere can continue from his tremendous rookie season.

Jake Voracek looks quicker now than he did at any point last season, so I'm hoping for a rebound year from him.

Steve Mason and Michael Neuvirth are both in the final years of their contracts. Hopefully the goalie competition in their walk year has them both playing at the top of their game.

Also, I didn't know it until I looked it up, but here are the top 5 NHL players this decade (2010-2016) by points:

    1. Claude Giroux (443)
    2. Alex Ovechkin (437)
    3. Patrick Kane (433)
    4. Sidney Crosby (432)
    5. Steven Stamkos (421)

I hope Giroux can stay healthy, as there is potentially more talent around him this year than there's been the last few seasons.

The Flyers are making it hard for me to totally hate them because I love watching Girioux, Voracek and Gostisbehere play. I respect Mason for rebuilding his career, but I hate leftie goalies lol.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them take the playoff spot the Rangers have held for the past 5 years.

Thanks, Rhody. I gotta say, I don't totally hate the Rangers either, because of Lundqvist.

He's a hell of a goalie and I hope he wins a cup before he retires, but the Rangers' window seems to be closing. That Duclair/Yandle trade doesn't look so great in hindsight.
