One nice thing about Season 6: No More Book Spoilers!

But, per Martin, the ToJ info on record is not reliable:
[Don't read this if you have no idea about ToJ and want to remain that way.]

    CONCERNING THE TOWER OF JOY

I have a question which I'm sure you can (and will?) answer. It's about the Tower of Joy. The image we get from Ned's description is pretty powerful. But it doesn't make sense. The top three kingsguards, including the lord commander amd the best knight in ages, Ser Arthur Dayne are present there. Lyanna is in the tower, she asked Ned to promise him something. This, so says the general consensus us little Jon Snow, who is Lyanna's and Rhaegar's. No sense denying this

However, what are the Kingsguards doing fighting Eddard? Eddard would never hurt Lyanna, nor her child. The little one would be safe with Eddard as well, him being a close relative. So I ask you, was there someone else with Lyanna and Jon?

You'll need to wait for future books to find out more about the Tower of Joy and what happened there, I fear.

I might mention, though, that Ned's account, which you refer to, was in the context of a dream... and a fever dream at that. Our dreams are not always literal.

Also, did the Kingsguards know what was in the Tower?

    Certainly.

So, going into the season, that remains with a fair amount of surprise potential even for a book plot element, let alone the TV version, if indeed it goes there.

There's at least one book storyline that they haven't gotten to that will be in there this season.

    Kingsmoot! Ugh.

    Also the Riverlands.

There's actually a fair amount of AFFC that can and will be covered this year. The off book stuff will be at Kings Landing, the North and Essos.

So can we safely assume that (book five stuff):

Aegon is not going to be a character that is relevant in the end. He may not even be Rhaegar's son.

I'd say that's a fair assumption on the show, but it's possible he's important to the books and that whatever storyline GRRM has in mind for him gets combined with somebody else on the show.

Same here. I have this feeling Stannis is alive. GoT usually shows deaths, especially with big characters, in all their glory. All we heard was Oathkeeper hit make a sound. She could have easily just swing and hit the tree and spared Stannis. Also the same with The Hound. His death was not confirmed either.

    Gonna be a sick season.

Same goes for Myrcella and Snow - never showed them die.

Yeah the Jon Snow story is gonna be huge. I'm just really interested in seeing if Stannis or The Hound are alive or dead. Either is fine but I think at least one may surprise us.

...and I guess there is no doubt Sansa and Theon just stand up and walk away from their leap off the battlements of Winterfell....

I'll be disappointed if we don't get some clarity on Jon Snow tonight.

I don't see how they couldn't do it. That would be some weak ass sh1t if they just ignored the question.

They're going to say he's dead tonight..bury him/burn him etc. Then he'll get ressurected later on in the season.

Hell of an episode. But too many stories had to be brushed up on tonight. Not much was advanced except in Dorne and Sansa's story. Seemed like they just kind of touched on everyone's whereabouts. Hopefully the next episode or two will concentrate on just a couple at a time.

That scene with Melasandra at the end was pretty unnerving.

I knew as soon as Brienne finally got to Sansa and saved her and Theon the rest of the episode was gonna be bad news. Whenever you get good things happen the bad repays it ten times over lol

I liked it a lot, but had two questions:

Wasn't Trystane supposed to be on the same boat as Jamie?

How did the hounds just disappear when Brienne came to the rescue?

By far my favorite two storylines are Snow and Sansa. Third place would be Cersei/King's Landing. I really don't care for Dany's story at all. I know I'm in the minority on that based on discussions with many of my friends.

I just read that after this season the plan is two more totaling 13 episodes between the two.

Not set in stone. Probably for the better. You don't wanna ruin it by dragging it out until we want it over.

I actually thought the same. Where the hell did the dogs go?
