I believe some time in early March, it will become official.
Shortly thereafter, he will become a member of the Cowboys because the GM of that team is so completely inept, he can't get out of his own way.

There is no way he plays till 42 at the same high level. The drop off will begin in 2017 just like it did for Favre at 40.

Even if you account for his drop off, he probably will still be an above average QB.

Maybe but Favre's final season at 41 was tough to watch and the wheels feel off Peyton at age 39. Elway, Marino and Montana wisely hung it up before they turned 40. We will see how much of a beating Brady takes at ages 39-42.

It doesn't matter because it's football. It's not like A-Rod's contract where they're stuck with him no matter how much he's fallen off through age 42.

Between the draft and $81mill currently in cap space to spend in free agency, the Jags may be able to buy a decent enough defense to finally be pretty good when you pair it with that young offense.

Peyton Manning will announce his retirement today. Like him or not the league will miss him. He's going out on top like Elway.

He made the right call. Glad he realized there's no better way to go out. Now, does he go right to TV or take a year off then try coaching? I'd personally like to see him replace Simms on CBS.

I just don't see elite QB's as position coaches after they retire. Usually it's the clip holders who catch the coaching bug from standing on the sidelines for the majority of their careers like Kubiak and Garrett. Jim Harbaugh was successful but not elite. I think he will go into broadcasting.

Great list. I'd put Marino in the top 5 (at #5) with Favre at #6 but otherwise completely agree with everything else.

I agree with Melancynic but to go a step further, I wouldn't even put Bradshaw in the Top 10.

Bradshaw was a great QB, top 15 of all time without any question, but he's not in my top 6. Gotta rank Marino, among a handful of others, ahead of him.

That said, I like your list and top 5 is hard to argue.

I hate that everyone picks up a camera instead of actually getting involved and helping to quell a situation but, here's this weird incident involving Brock Osweiler, his wife and some random women who got in a pizza fight with them:
